No one there when we arrive to check us in

This is a self check in place. We had prepaid . We were lucky sone one else was there. There was no one there to check us in. We had received a n email about 20 mins after arrival with number of our room . We saw the owner later in the evening. Very nice man. The place could do with a make over but it certainly met our needs and then some. It is in a good location a bout a 7 minute walk to the beach pak inn save across the road and a mall in the next Block. . We intend to go back next year.

It's self check-in accommodation, and we got confused initially until we checked the message at our bookings.

The location was a good and spacious house. Clean and tidy. Close to Paamoa Plazza and the beach. We found you can book a room only as well as a full house. If you book a room only, then you pay less than a backpacker. Also available to book full house if do not want to share the accommodation with other guests. Free wifi, big clean kitchen, and big deck. Free washing machine use is a bonus.

IMy stay wasn't long enough 😪

I love the location. It was across the road to a shopping center with a lot of options in walking distance to restaurants, beaches, and bars .. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.There was no personal contact just rang the number of the host who offered me a choice of 2 rooms which were ready to use 😀

There is no staff at papamoa backpacking, nor did i speak to anyone before going to the hostel. I asked two questions via chat on booking.com and no one answered me. There is no front desk, no receptionist, nothing. It was unclear when booking if the other beds in the room I booked would be filled by other travllers chosen by booking.com. Papamoa Beach staff members. The toilet was constantly running and wasting lots of water. There is only full bathroom to share amongst all guests.

location is FANTASTIC. Close to beach, stores, bus stops. When you book a room, you are booking it for yourself/your party only.

No TV.

Perfect location. Clean and tidy. There is no need for cars to go shopping and the popular Papamoa Beach. I felt like I was staying in the house since it was quite and no homeless locals in this accommodation. Free wifi and on-site washing facilities just ask the owner, and he is allowed to use in small cost.

There is a long-term young Asain female staying not keeping the shared facilities tidy after using it, though the owner cleans every day. I suggested that the owner should discontinue them to get good reviews.

Less guests in the accommodation, and I felt like staying in the house. Fairly clean and self check-in. Supermarket and Papamoa Plazza right across the house.

VERY UNCLEAN! Random used toilet rolls left around bathroom. Door damage on bathroom have to lock with not the door handle lock. 4 singles beds and only one of them was barely passable as comfortable.

Does not feel safe Dirty Beds are gross The house looks and feels like a crack den Cockroaches on kitchen worktop The girls that live in the house do not respect other people that are staying there. Late night FaceTime calls in the livingroom and shouting at 1am. It was a joke! The only reason we didn’t leave and cancel the booking was because there was literally no other accommodation
