I stayed here for a couple of weeks while I was working in cromwell, lovely little quiet inn on a beautiful property. Hospitality was great. Comfortable and clean. Indoor fire place is a great touch and some cute dogs running around made it feel homely. Tip- it is cheaper to book directly through them !

Although aimed at budget travelers the inn is furnished to a high standard with a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. The provision of bathrooms is adequate for the number of guests and they are clean. As important, the fire safety provision is the best I've seen in the country.

The shower room heater automatically turns off after some time, and it's really inconvenient that I have to turn it on again, especially since the button is outside.

Hooks in the bedroom and bathrooms would have been good additions. To hang clothes and coats, etc..

Des and Lynlea are great hosts, coming in to check on me from time to time, making sure everything was adequately provided for. Yet giving me space i needed. Their 3 pups definitely added to the overall experience. Checking in, Des took me around the house to familiarize and turned on the radio just so things werent so quiet. Made sure i was aware that i could use his appliances and devices.. Strong wifi.. Kept the fireplace going at night so that the house is always warm since i was up at night, aurora hunting and star gazing. (The location is awesome for it!!) Its their attention to small details that really warms the heart. Furthermore, u can look out into wide skies with minimal light pollution.. Parking is just out front, very convenient. Kitchen is well equipped. Like other hostels and backpackers, u clean up after yourself which is great! Bathrooms and toilets are separated. Very clean and minimal (bring ur own bathing supplies).. As a solo traveller, i chose to stay in a 8 bedder.. there wasnt many guests sharing during my stay so i practically had the whole room to myself. There are cubicles to put away your things.. the bed is comfortable and duvet thick enough. The drawstring curtain blocks out light which is awesome. The charging points are just beside the bed, very convenient. Definitely recommending Penny's for ur stay! Its very clean, well maintained and very reasonably priced compared to other accomodations around the area. A very understated place near cromwell/wanaka. Will return!

The design of the accommodation, the toilets and bathroom should be connected by a hall way without having to traverse via the kitchen. A sign should be put up stating you will need to push the button after ten minutes in the shower if you want further time in the shower.

The facilities were very good in the kitchen. The bathroom and toilets were modern and well maintained. The lounge area catered well for guests with a large comfortable couch, large television plus game activities such as cards supplied. The whole place was well presented.
