Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandWe cycled out to the Farm.... wondered where we were going...down dirt road... down farm track. Farmhouse looks very old at a distance ... and it is! But clean as ..peaceful.. historic features abound... a step back in time. Peter is warm and gracious host. Lent us a car to get back to Waipiate Hotel for evening meal which was busy with locals and cyclists. Good value and good quality.

New ZealandThat fact that I didn’t own it!
What a fantastic accidental find. The advert and description are very good , but it still doesn’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a piece of New Zealand history, this is a pioneers dream location. Stunning, quirky location. Amazing un- light polluted skies. Crisp, clean 5star bedding, and friendly sheep to help you unwind! Host is very helpful and informative. Can’t wait to visit again with extended family.

New ZealandWhat a gem! Peter's Farm is a beautiful spot on farmland. We stayed here during our Otago Rail Trail ride. The rooms are all extremely clean, tidy and beautifully set out. Bed super comfy and really nice sheets and towels. We stayed in the miners cabin that has been renovated to keep its charm but have the new luxuries you'd expect in a new build. The bathroom isn't in the room as an ensuite but 3 steps outside and again, spotlessly clean! The original homestead is incredible! We couldn't believe how clean and tidy the entire house was, along with the history of the house and all of the original architecture. Peter lent us his van to take to the Waipiata Pub for tea - this is a must visit for their famous pies! Peter had fresh baked bread waiting for us in the morning to have for breakfast along with coffee, fruit, and an assortment of cereals. If you are wondering whether to stay here or not, definitely do it! Memorable, beautiful and we loved every minute!

New Zealandbeing visited by our host uninvited. he walked thru the house while we were sitting outside admiring our surroundings. A knock would have been appreciated. We didnt know beforehand that the house could have been full of cyclist from the Otago Railtrail and we were very lucky we were the only people staying. Never realised it housed 16 if required.
Peter baked us fresh bread for our breakfast which was superb.

GermanyIt's an old farm house and not the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. So you know, what to expect. We were satisfied in general. Sometimes you could hear the neighbours through the wall and for my personal opinion, the Beds were a bit too soft... But that's just some minor points.
Location, Location, Location! In the pure middle of nowhere lies this piece of Beauty. On our arrival was Peter just going to feed the sheep. So he asked us, If we would like to join. A few minutes later we found ourselves surrounded be sheep to give them pellets and ended up to feed a little lamb with a milk bottle. Peter explained a Lot about the history of the bulidung, gave us tips for the Otago Central Rail Trail and recommondation for bike hire. He baked fresh bread for breakfast. He even called us back, that I've forgotten my powerbank in the room, so we could return and collect it. All in all it was a wunderful experience for us.

New ZealandEverything was fine.
Charming country location, not far from Waipiata. Very well set up for cyclists. I noticed a charging station for e-bikes and saw that Peter would lend a van to cyclists who wanted to go to the village pub for dinner. Peter is enthusiastic about his homestead and the general region and will give you ideas for side trips. We stayed in the little cottage, which was cute and comfortable, and included a bathroom accessible along a little outdoor ramp. We could also use the homestead common rooms (living, dining, kitchen).

New ZealandA note rather than a negative that the property is a good 10kms up a shingle road
My husband stayed 1 night on a solo motorbike trip and really enjoyed his stay. Nice facilities with a very comfortable room, bed and shared lounge. Peter is friendly and very attentive to guests even providing freshly baked bread for breakfast along with butter, jam and a selection of cereals. Very good value for money. Also recommend dinner at the Waipiata Hotel 5 mins drive away.

AustraliaNone.
Peter was very nice showing us around the house and making us feel comfortable and safe we even got to feed the sheep which was very enjoyable. Even thought there were problems with the Internet Peter tried very hard to solve the issue but couldn't and immediately changed us to another house with everything working properly. He made sure we were satisfied, if you want a farm stay experience this is definitely the right choice.
