How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Multiple inroom facilities needed repairs or maintenance.
Excellent amenities like a tub and tea/coffee, washers and appliances etc. Excellent staff and cleaners. Great location in the middle of town.

Heat pump was very noisy, even when turned off the one in the room was loud, slept with ear plugs the first night as it was annoying. Room is dated with stains and marks around the place. Nice but value option.
Handy location to square and conference centre. Room was clean and tidy but unfortunately quite dated. Staff very friendly and easy check in/out and access to the room simple.

Frustrating at this price I couldn't watch TV. Tried the rigmarole of getting the app and gave up in frustration. Surely you can at least provide free TV. Also I was a little concerned it was hard to tell if the door was locked. I tried it from outside and it was unlocked and it wasn't. Usually hotel doors lock automaticly when closed and this one didn't.

After dark felt unsafe, stain on bed sheet. Two bedroom apartment had two heavy doors between them. Felt mislead on what we booked. The TV was not hooked up to any antenna / dish .
Location was fine, walked to the supermarket and the mall.

Either i couldnt work out the extractor or it wasnt working. Not a big deal we just used the microwave

Sadly the tvs weren't operating. The tapware in both units were loose and hard to operate, and unfortunately our shower had a bad odour coming up from the waste plug.
Location was great, easy to access and no problems with checking in.

The breakfast. Don’t state that breakfast is included when you keep 2 bottle of juices, apples and bananas in a table near reception and call that as breakfast.

The fact that there was no television and you had to download an app. to operate it. Also I thought there was some small maintenance issues with the sink tap very loose on the bench and the toilet seat was loose as well, the basin tap was also a bit erratic in operation.

Felt a little like I was being judged. Also the room was missing a remote in the bedroom (no biggy cos we didnt need to use that TV) and some cutlery. Reception were happy to send room-keeping to remedy the cutlery so that was fine, at that point I said no thx its fine.
Location, price, facilities. The receptionist on Sunday morning was very friendly and helpful. Was also helpful when I discovered there was a luggage trolley because prior to that, I had to do about 10 trips to my car to take all my luggage to the room, that was exhausting.

Reception person was not overly friendly. Getting a car park was not easy. Should amend their site to advise people to make a request for a car park at the time of their booking. Bathroom lock was broken, radio didn't work. Beds were a little uncomfortable. Rooms looked a little tired.
Great location, lots of eating venues, bars and shops within a minutes walk. Room was warm, tidy. Size of room was very good. Bathroom was a good size with washing machine and dryer.

THe glasses in the cupboard were not clean and the overall cleanliness was a bit average.
the young receptionist was just great. Our TV would not work and she came up a sorted it all out.

Minor - when I had a shower in the morning, I couldn't open the door back up to get out (thankful I was travelling with my partner who came to my rescue), the tray had moved. Mentioned to the receptionist on the way out so that they can repair.
Great location, right in the middle of the square in Palmy. We were greeted by the lovely receptionist. Room was comfortable and clean. Would stay again. Parking was available right outside the front of the hotel.

No TV, had to stream for any viewing. I wasn't a fan of the toilet paper.
The location was perfect. Less than a 5 minute walk to the Convention center. Fantastic view of the square.
