Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Wifi was terribly slow. Could only do web searches. Walls of the units are fairly thin so you could hear the neighbours in the adjoining units.
The motel unit was clean and had parking in front of the unit. Kitchen was fully furnished. Unit has rain shower installed.

The room and bathroom felt quite cramped, and the overall space would benefit from a more thorough, professional cleaning. Our fan in the bedroom did not work.
It’s a nice place if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night.

Some other guests staying got up at 4 am to go to work which woke me up. We stayed in the older part of the motel - the newer units looked better.
Pleasant Staff. The unit itself was located in the main house with a bedroom ,toilet and shower. The unit was dated but adequate. Location was good with Supermarket across the road and restaurants nearby. Everything was clean, the bed was fine, kitchen was shared, fridge was provided in the room, we had a pleasant overnight stay.

Well obviously the place is a bit old, so a few things are a bit run down, but overall it did give us the basic facilities of having a decent roof over our head.
The staff were excellent and indeed very helpful. We had booked for 3 people...but my son also decided to join in last minute. The staff provided us with a mattress and that too at no extra cost, plus they also accomodated with parking of his car too. So indeed great staff.

Likes: Great that a supermarket is right across the road. Very informative host on arrival. Dislikes: The bed was very firm. Didn’t sleep very well at all due to how hard it was. Bathroom door couldn’t open completely due to where hinge placement was in the wall. It did look rundown from the outside, but room was newly decorated.

Shower & toilet facilities shared (one for males, one for females) - not a great inconvenience but more would have been nice!
Very friendly family run budget motel at Gate Pa, about 10 minutes drive from central Tauranga with small retail area (including supermarket & bakery) opposite. Comfortable rooms with fridge, TV, free Wi-fi & off-road parking. Shared shower, toilet & cooking facilities & laundry .

For $177. I thought it was a tad expensive. But location suited

1. TV was difficult to set up, to watch tv 1,2 & 3. 2. Internet was lagging during peak hours . 3. Another TV in the room would have been appealing for me!
Location! Shopping centre across the road. Staff friendly. The initial view of the whole property, did looked dated. However, the Units were good!

From the outside I had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised by the updated and modern interior. Staff were friendly. Extra pillows provided on request without issue. Directly opposite shopping precinct. Reasonably priced.

The unit was recently renovated. Felt some things were missing, especially in the bathroom. A mirror with power point for hairdryer or shaver. A small table to put coffee etc near lounge-chair. And why only one when the unit was for two people? Handrail on outside sreps or a ramp - there seemed to be room for one.
The location was ideal, with shops and eating places across the road. Was not noisy as expected being a main road.
