Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThere was a plumbing issue. Could hear water running all night in the roof like a tank was continually trying to refill. Beds were very hard.
Close to the venue I was needing to be at. Could get two rooms for all the family. Affordable. Warm.

New ZealandIncredibly dated and clearly seen better times, although clean and had everything you needed. Shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot, so not useable really.
Great electric blanket, bed very comfortable. Handy having a decent kitchenette although never used it. Cheap!

New ZealandVery dated, not the cleanest - avoided using the shower/kitchen/bathroom as we only needed somewhere to sleep for the night after a function, so had the luxury of having alternatives the next morning. Weird dirt and seeds on bedside table, didn't seem very maintained aside from making beds/changing sheets.
Comfortable bed, sheets seemed clean, helpful staff member who was available to meet at requested check in time. Little complimentary chocolate bars were a nice touch.

New Zealandthe lounge sitter was like a school bus seat, very hard and no comfort. electric blanket controls were facing the wall and had to remake bed so the control cords were easily excess able beside bed. Queen size beds electric blanket only one side was working. the other sides 3 pins in the plug, one was bend and so we fixed that. On arrival the room was not aired out, every thing was damp and musty and could smell smoke. we noticed the condensation on windows in morning and if you had catches on window which were burglar proof could have left the window open. with no room service, toilet paper ran out. no tea towels, no vacuum cleaning done in the five days we were there. one light socket was broken in the lounge.

United KingdomThe general level of cleanliness was disappointing - light switches had old fingerprint marks on them, mirrors had previous marks on them, we had to keep evicting spiders we found (several dead so wasn't like they had just come in!), clear up crumbs of previous food (not ours), bowls in cupboard had old food items crusted on (looked like cereal). Sadly the free tea was undrinkable - tasted like lemon dishwater (Porter teabags), the drawers had dirt marks in the bottom and the stovetop had old foil under each pan hob area which looked quite old and the scrubbing brush to do washing up needed a good clean itself! The sofa was like a hard airport seat and was unbearable and not comfy - so we often sat on the dining chairs or the floor. We went out to see family and when we came back a bedroom light was on and a door closed which we had not done yet none of the rooms had been serviced (no beds made, no more teabags etc) we could not work out why our room had been accessed as it wasn't cleaned. and bins not emptied. No clothes airer and it was a wet few days so had to improvise with an ironing board. Towels provided were very stiff and scratchy so showered at our families house and only one coat hanger provided in the wardrobes for 3 people so just ended up living out of our suitcases. In the bathroom there were several soap dispensers but not clear what was in each one, very confused!
Well located for Rangiora town centre Parking space was covered and clearly allocated for the room in the shared parking area. Kids small playground available (but it rained so did not use). Room was large, two bedrooms good size, separate toilet to shower was useful off the kitchen. Heat pump worked well on evening when it was colder. Other rooms I saw as we walked past looked recently decorated (wallpaper) etc so looked nice and fresh
