Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The shower trickled, and the temperature was up and down constantly . Needs more pressure. Lack of sound insulation to hosts bedroom and bathroom above.
Host was very friendly, nice room lovely breakfast. Great location.

As the name suggests, this property is a great retreat from the city and the road. A very comfy room replete with washing machine. The added bonus was the view of the most glorious collection of begonias you will ever see, even in a botanic garden. Well done Stephen! Breakfast consisted of a selection of cereals, milk, yoghurt, fresh fruit and fresh juice.

The room is very tidy, clean and spacious. Inside there’s everything you need. Stephen is very friendly as to meet us when we arrived. He offered airport transfer even we took such an early flight at 6:45. The stay there’s exceptionally good.

Great hosts who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Airport pick up and drop off was so helpful. The accommodation was perfect and had everything anyone could want.

I expected a separate guest house but the Retreat is part of the hosts' house and you can occasionally hear them moving around and talking. Also the shower pressure was extremely low but maybe that was due to the time of day I used it.
The host (Raewyn) was welcoming and communication with her was easy by phone or through the booking.com app. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed extremely comfy. The place is close enough to the airport to walk (although Raewyn offered to drive me). This was the main reason I picked the place.

Stephen was a great host. He picked me up at the airport at 10pm and dropped me off the next morning. The apartment was immaculate and very quiet. I highly recommend it when in need of a place close to the Nelson airport.

Very quiet, cosy and the bed was so comfortable. Great shower and a lovely breakfast as well. You can see and feel that the owners take great pride in their accommodation with so many little personal touches to please their guests. It was perfect.
The accommodation had everything it advertised and promised. Perfectly clean and neat. Cereals, biscuits, fresh berries, yogurt, milk and juice in the fridge. Plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Washing machine available in the accommodation. A lovely assortment of toiletries available for guest use, hairdryer. Bedside lamps and plug points made our stay much more pleasant. Our host gave us helpful information on places of interest.

I had a great experience staying at the Reeves Retreat. Perfect little BNB which was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hosts were very welcoming and were willing to go above and beyond if needed. Breakfast was simple but very tasty. Air conditioning provided a welcome relief from the warm outside temp.
