Overall, Ridge Haven is a wonderful place to relax, and I’d happily return. It’s well suited for couples or solo travelers looking for a peaceful, scenic escape with all the essentials. The only real issue I had was the sofa which was not very comfortable and maybe that could be updated but other than that it was an all round pleasurable experience.

I had a fantastic stay at Ridge Haven in Ruakaka. The location was excellent—perfect for relaxing, with easy access to coastal walks and scenic views. It’s just a short drive or bike ride to the main beach, and the flat terrain makes cycling a breeze. The unit itself was immaculately clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great pressure, which is always a plus. I especially enjoyed the peaceful garden setting, with tranquil views stretching out toward the coast. I met the host the next day and found them to be warm, welcoming, and lovely to chat with—a real highlight of the stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, scenic spot with all the comforts of home.

Suggestion would be to have an extractor fan installed in the bathroom. But the bathroom facilities were still very good.

Everything was great although only an overnighter could've definitely stayed longer.

Booked in the afternoon for night arrival same day - speedy response. Arrived to homely comforts. Nice and clean. Topped our stay off with a quick dip at the beach.

Was difficult to find, no big deal!

We were pleasantly surprised at the overall appearance and the size, layout of the 2-story house, section and then the generous layout of the studio unit downstairs unit. Outdoors appearance was well manicured, lawns mowed etc. The stay was 'accidental' in that we often stay in Whangarei when passing through to Hamilton as a halfway stop or Hospital appointments. This particular occasion there was a weeklong Hockey tournament on and forced me to search for alternative accommodation for a Hospital appointment.
