I really love the cute design of the room. The surrounding is very peaceful and I enjoyed the outside bath so much. The hand-made bread is super delicious. Thanks to Rachel for providing a single bed as well. We had an amazing stay in sunny Nelson!

We loved being in our own cottage and in such a beautiful location. It was so quiet and secluded. Great location to travel up into the Abel Tasman National Park, where we enjoyed hiking, travelling by water taxis and having lunch at a remote lodge only accessible by sea or foot.

Rachel made us feel very welcome and our accommodation (Orchard Studio) was great. It is set in lovely gardens/orchard and there is a nice pool that we didn't get time to use owing to pre-planning too many other activities in the vicinity. The Studio was nicely furnished and we were given a large breakfast basket on the first morning with a loaf of fresh bread, butter, fruit compote, yogurts, jams, hazelnut spread and marmalade. There is a large shower but you can divert the water to the bath tub out on the porch for a soak under the stars. There were plenty of other welcome extras such as fresh hazelnuts (and an efficient nutcracker) on the porch, sun lotion, insect repellent, foil, cling film and cooking oil. There was also a complimentary lavender product mate from the lavender grown on the farm. We highly recommend a stay here in this great rural location.

The host Rachel was really helpful and the place met all our needs. All the cosy touches and the breakfast basket made it a really comfortable and homely place to stay. We were very relaxed and enjoyed sitting out, listening to the owls and using the bath. We also loved Gully the cat who was very nice to us. We would happily come back here again.

We had a lovely Christmas stay at Quail Farm. We loved our breakfast. The cottage was well appointed and had a very well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the whole place was very clean. We made good use of the outside bath. The barbeque was well used by us. There was nothing more we could have requested at Quail Farm everything was there. Loved the welcome at the gate.

Quaint cottage well located just south of Nelson on a Lavender farm which we could explore. Very quiet & relaxing with nice touches throughout the property. You can buy Lavender oils from Rachel which was a memento of our stay.

Nothing, was perfect!

The location is very quiet and peaceful and the farm has so much to see and enjoy. Rachel has thought of everything from oil for the BBQ to a complimentary roller ball of sleep oil. So much attention to detail with our name on the entrance gate, sprigs of jasmine and lavender in the room, homemade body spray, welcome letter, blankets for cool nights outside on the deck, fluffy dressing gowns…and so much more to mention.

We loved all of it the peace and quiet, the lovely birds and friendly chicken that came to see us.

Our host bought us a little basket of homemade bread in the mornings (still warm) it was left covered in a little basket, a wonderful present in the morning. We already had cereals, orange juice, milk, tea, coffee, homemade jam and marmalade in our room in the fridge. Our lovely host had provided lots of lavender products to try and Epsom salts for the outdoor bath which was wonderful. Peaceful location really helpful and knowledgeable host who was readily available if you had any questions or just wanted a chat 😊
