Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe master bed is really low to the ground and rather firm. The couches are also not the most comfortable as they are a day bed style but as we didn’t spend a long time in the apartment it was ok for us
Great restaurant and the room was perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids. The little kitchenette is well equipped and we were able to easily make breakfast and snacks

Brunei DarussalamFairly challenging to get a good parking spot as the place seems busy especially in the evening. The heater in our room fluctuates every now and then. i struggled to sleep during my first night as it was very cold.
Good location (in the middle of Queenstown and Frankton.). the breakfast was great! i loved the scramble eggs, oysters and mushrooms.

New ZealandI think there is a lack of comfortable seating around the fire in the dining room, would have been so nice to sit and have our Mulled wine (which was the best Mulled wine EVER!!) in front of the fire. I love the intermate atmosphere, but there is a lack of lighting to see the menu and eat under. Could maybe do with some tabletop lights(?) The lower seating area had the best views but not used. Overall, we love it here and have stayed many times!
Lovely setting and great views from the lower restaurant. We had mulled wine and snacks and then later we had dinner which was excellent. The room is comfortable and the bed althro a bit low was nice. I love the decor.

Hong KongThe rooms were a bit tired and did not have a TV. The walls were a bit on the thin side, as we could hear the guests next door.
The location was perfect as it was in between Queenstown and the airport. The only problem was turning right towards Queenstown when traffic was heavy.

AustraliaThere aren't too many drawbacks to the rooms. However, the road noise does take some minor getting used to & was initially a bit of shock. You get the central location, but the whirring of cars is the cost for that. Similarly, the bathrooms had some unique quirks, with the space lacking storage space for longer stays, so just keep that in mind when packing your skincare or haircare products. Lastly, the doors are treated with a kind of opaque glass or resin, that doesn't block lights of cars. So, at times there were headlights shinning into the room which did break the otherwise relaxing ambience. The hoteliers were fine, but they weren't as warm or supportive as the restaurant staff. Whilst they obviously work very hard, there is an appreciable disconnect between the way the hotel staff operate and the Sherwood restaurant staff operate. This was noticeable and did leave my partner, and I feeling a little confused at this disconnect. This hotel is a gem and potentially worth the cost, particularly in contrast to nearby hotels, but it comes with the above quirks. I would be more than happy to improve this rating if the hotel matched the calibre of the restaurant.
The hotel is situated just outside town and is really close by the main bus route. Rooms are warm and suitably comfortable for winter visits. The adjacent restaurant whilst very expensive (even with currency conversion considered) is very, very good. The restaurant staff are top-notch and are very hospitable. I would also add that the hotel does do its best to stick to the branding of sustainable and eco friendly, however, just note many of the offered soaps etc. contain animal products, which might not gel with certain guests' particular philosophies as they relate to sustainability. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and modern and feature most basic amenities you would need for short - and long-term stays.
