Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Oven was very slow (maybe we didn't use the right setting- the oven kept beeping. An instruction manual would have been handy) and thicker curtains in the living space would enhance the cosiness factor. The plastic wine goblets are heat damaged from the dishwasher and leak!
Cosy, clean accommodation that suited our needs very well.

be aware the beds are double size, we slept in separate rooms as we are used to a bigger bed you have to use the fire for heating as there is no heat pump so if you were to get in late it takes an hour or two to heat the house, the electric heater can’t do it by itself having said that it is a great spot once you sort those things out
nice and warm with the fire going short walk to town for dinners out central for touring mid Canterbury quiet at night great for a couple

Needed another couch and comfier stools. There wasn't any kindling ready for our group despite it being a requirement for the leaving group to ensure they leave some. Only 1 fire lighter available. Better curtains would be needed for a mid winter stay.
Cosy house. Good value for money. Great big fridge.

The heater In the bathroom was not working. Dishwasher powder was empty . Something for serving food and plates that fit in the dishwasher would be great for convenience . The cleaning was not hotel standards but overall good.
Great communicating . Awesome fire , we enjoyed our stay and would come back. Spacious , off street parking . Brilliant location. Homely feel with added touches and felt like home. Extra tea towels coffee provided.

We had a lovely couple of days. Ski Pad Methven is close to shops, restaurants and the hot pools. It had everything that we needed.

Slight smell of smoke inside. Have advised property manager so hopefully be gone for the next person.
Property was good for us (a family of 4 with 2 young kids), 3 double beds, reasonable sized kitchen and living area. Plenty of off street parking. Being of wood construction we found it nice and warm over night. Nice double doors can be opened up during the day.

Quite small for three couples, could have more lounge chairs. Lawns not mowed.

the sheets! they weren't cotton. they were synthetic so I kept waking up hot and sweaty in the night. More linen and better linen should be available. also more towels. Otherwise good.

Very little. Only slight negative were the beds were a tad small and not overly comfy. But all in all, you aren’t paying for the Hilton!
Great spot, very close to the hot pools and the town. Lovely living room, with a great fire. All you could need really. Great value.

no table to work on besides kitchen bench to eat at; no expelair so smoke alarm went off with windows closed while cooking bathroom cupboard door doesnt open when bathroom door open or voce versa. lights tucked in behind fridge a bit annoying but minor things
