Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Hong KongGreat location and stay for our way from Christchurch Airport to Castle hill. The Cabin was really nice—inside facilities were clean and comfortable, and the setting was great. Loved the beautiful view outside!

Very calm and unique experience. Its only 2.5 km from highway, but will give you a feeling of a remote village stay. There is no light pollution, which give you a best sky view.

New ZealandThis was the most expensive accommodation of our one-week trip around the Canterbury region, but unfortunately, the facilities were the least impressive. The cozy atmosphere shown in the photos didn’t match our experience.
The owners were lovely and gave us some food for the alpacas on request. The big window with the view on the grazing sheeps is relaxing. There were a couple of toys for children.

It had everything you need and more. Very clean and comfortable with a projector and fire stick. The view out the windows is amazing- you get to watch the Alpacas and sheep running around. The directions and communication from our host were fantastic and they made the space useable and homely.

New ZealandSleeping platform with mattresses was great for us and the kids but would likely not work for people less steady on their feet.
Lovely quiet setting. The owners of the property were nearby but left us to it. There were alpacas when we arrived right outside the large sliding window which were just amazing to sit and watch. They were very discreetly moved to another paddock, understandably with us having our dog with us. The amenities were of an unexpected and very high standard. Touch screen movable TV, large projector screen with plenty of streaming options, telescope for star gazing and speaker for music. Fenced property. Great bike track for the kids with some exercise equipment and fully fenced so the dog could play also.

New ZealandWe brought our own milk but maybe a jug in the fridge for those may forget? Also, some curtains wouldn't go astray. Us city folk get a bit unerved without them haha.
Loved the location and excellent instructions provided by the owner. Very responsive to queries and also assisted with offering medical supplies to my daughter who fell ill. Rustic yet modern and very comfy.

AustraliaUnfortunately for some reason the beds are built up on a platform requiring 3 fairly big step-ups. OK for young people but way too hard for my 95 yo mum, so we had to find a different motel. This is not the fault of the Sunrise Cabin owners as they had warned me, but I misjudged just how difficult it was for my mother.
Very nicely designed, open and airy.

AustraliaOur stay at the Sunrise Mountain View Cabin Retreat was nothing short of magical. Tu led away in the countryside, this cozy getaway provided the perfect balance of tranquility, breathtaking scenery, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home as the cabin was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and had a welcoming, homely vibe that made us instantly comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible sense of privacy, surrounded by rolling mountain views and an in person view of sheep and alpacas. The occasional visit from a friendly dog added to the charm, making the experience feel even more special. The owner was exceptionally accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Allowing us to have an early check in and towards the end of our stay the host provided us with a treat to feed the alpacas, an experience that made our last night at the cabin truly amazing. The location was fantastic. Just down the road, we indulged in the world famous Sheffield pies, a must try for anyone visiting the Sheffield area or passing through. A scenic hour’s drive away, Arthur’s Pass offered breathtaking views that made the journey well worth it. The entire region is a paradise with stunning landscapes in every direction. This stay was easily one of our favorites in New Zealand. The combination of peaceful surroundings, stunning mountain views, and thoughtful hospitality made it a truly special experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing countryside escape with a touch of adventure, this cabin retreat is an absolute must. We can’t wait to return.

AustraliaNo mention of having to go over dirt road at booking. Standard of presentation and quality of cleanliness not aligned with price paid or expectations set by advertisement. Too many personal belongings left in property. Not suitable for people with mobility problems and this is difficult to tell from the photos as well.

AustraliaDirty! It's the type of place you have to wash everything you use before you use it. Glasses, cutlery and plates were grimey and the whole place is in need of a deep professional clean! The mattress was thin and uncomfortable. We now have between 15 and 20 (what I can only hope are flea bites) from staying there. The price is an accurate representation of you get what you pay for.
The location was great with a beautiful view from the lounge.
