It's a little too close to the road. Although traffic is not heavy, any car or truck that went by, you definitely hear it all day/night. But that won't stop us from staying again.

We loved that it felt like our own little home. Totally separated from the next cottage. It was very clean, equipped with plug adapters, and the owner was very polite and friendly.

The view of the mountains with snow on the caps!! Amazing!! Also a 5 minute drive into Franz Josef to restaurants. The cottage was very spacious and exceptionally clean. Thanks so much Isaac for helping us with our rental car battery issue, you were a saviour !!

The location was just off the main road near a farmhouse and at night there was occasional traffic and the sound of dogs barking but neither was too severe. There were three adults in our group with one sleeping in the lounge area which we knew would be the case in advance but in practice this was not the best arrangement, we think it is best for a couple only When booking we did not appreciate how far out of the town we would be so that meant driving to get to shops, pubs and restaurants.

The property was clean with good shower and easy parking right outside your door.

Just wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Perfect cottage with everything you need. Spacious & comfy. Kitchenette didn’t have a cooktop but there was an electric frypan. Loved cooking with great views all around.

The bathroom vanity unit was a bit small as was the toilet vanity. The shower could have a proper soap and cleaning product shelf.

Small fridge with a small freezer which needs defrosting. A larger TV would also be a bonus.

The location and outlook were lovely. It is a very comfortable place for two people to stay when visiting the glacier region.

Loved this property. Amazing views that we couldn’t get enough off. Extremely clean and smelt fresh. Large lounge room, a nice deck to watch the view and the night sky. We even managed to view the southern lights one night. Very special! It’s not in the town, but we had a car and this was not a problem. This was actually a plus for us as it was the busy period.

The bed and pillows weren’t to our personal comfort preference, but they were reasonable! The kitchen is quite basic, so we didn’t cook whilst we were there (but it was as described on the listing, so no surprises). It is a little bit out of town, so we drove in each time rather than walked, which was fine for us but others may want to be able to walk to restaurants. There was no internet connection on the TV, only free to air channels (not surprising given the remote location, and the wifi was good so we could use our own devices).

Great little cabin in Franz Josef. The views were wonderful, and you wouldn’t know that you’re close to the main road. Easy to check in, appreciated the air conditioning and the fly screens on the windows (this seems to be uncommon in NZ, so we really appreciated it here). Beautiful sunset one night and star gazing the next night. Appreciated the board games!

There is nothing wrong with the property, and I would stay there again as we enjoyed our stay. My only comment is that some minor things were showing signs of wear and need to be replaced such as the forks in the kitchen (some were bent), portable washing line is falling apart and some of the board games had missing pieces.

The property is quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed we had the best nights sleep of the trip there, sleeping with the window open (thanks to the fly screen) and listening to the rain. The property is very close to town and has nice views towards the mountains. The owner was friendly and promptly assisted us with a wifi issue.
