Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThere was a slight scent from the vintage furniture, but it wasn't bothersome, and overall, I greatly appreciated the charm of The Terrace Villas and would stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay here; my suite boasted an incredible view! The room was spacious and equipped with all the essentials.

New ZealandParking. The Booking.com website said there was private parking and this was a key reason why we booked. However when we checked in we were advised that this needed to be pre-booked. The situation was sorted out and we were able to park our car. However the space allocated for parking was very tight and awkward to access. Also the access to the apartment (number 2374) wasn’t the easiest for a mobility-challenged 84 year old, being down a flight of steps with no handrails.

United KingdomIt's quite a steep walk (although only about 10 minutes) down to the shops of Wellington. There is a flight of public steps which make the downhill much easier - ask at reception - and coming up you will see a sign for the Travellodge hotel so take their lift which cuts off most of the steps.
These apartments are a complex of old style villas at the top of the Terrace, which is a road leading upwards from Wellington centre. They are scattered over a couple of close together sites. They have been extensively renovated and offer great quality accomodation with comfortable beds, good showers, good wifi and tv reception and are well equipped. There is parking available, but not always at your door, so if you have much luggage it is worth mentioning this and asking for a villa/apartment on the ground floor close to parking. We failed to do this but the young mad on reception was incredibly helpful (and strong!) and carried the heaviest pieces of luggage up several flights of stairs to our apartment.

New ZealandThe mugs are too small. The bed needs a thick pad over the mattress. I have one on my spare bed I got mine from Harvey Norman on sale for about $600
I didn't have breakfast Loved the location.

New ZealandThere was nothing to not like. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
The appartment was comfortably furnished. There was a workable kitchenette and bathroom. All of this very hand to Wellington CBD. A great place to be based for a weekend getaway to the capital. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

AustraliaThe location was perfect for us as we just parked the car and walked everywhere. The room was spacious and nostalgic. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was excellent. The washing machine was very handy as we were able to refresh our clothes. Would definitely recommend this stay.

New ZealandThe property allows pets, which is no issue, however there was obvious pet hair on the carpet - it needed a good vacuum. The induction stove top was a bit funny, with opposite elements coming on at the same time.
Location was fantastic, very close to the city centre and easy walking distance. The apartment was really spacious, large lounge and separate bedroom. Comfortable for a week long stay.

New ZealandNot sure why our unit wasn't serviced but we didn't really need it for our 4 day stay.
Chose the Terrace Villas Serviced Apartments but were directed to an apartment across the road but part of the same company. Only issue was the car was parked back at the original location, a small inconvenience when shifting luggage. Apartment was part of an old building which was well maintained, clean, large, quiet, fitted with near new quality appliances including laundry and drier, steam iron and ironing board. Huge fridge! Two cosy heaters. Shub shower. Unremarkable city views. The unit is as advertised and close to the city centre. However, the walk down Plimmer's Stairs (depending on your unit) requires negotiating several flights of stairs within the apartment building plus Plimmer's Stairs which are slippery on a wet day. A degree of fitness required or use alternative route or car. Definitely value for money

AustraliaThe long steep walk up to The Terrace from Lambton Quay. No free Sky Sports. No air conditioner (not a problem when I stayed / but climate change is making summer months hotter).

United States of AmericaThe placement of the armchairs in the main room made it easy to hit your head on the wall as you sat down. Moving them away from the wall or angling them would help.

New ZealandThe location was a different house to what I thought I booked, which was a little disappointing/surprising (even if the apartment we had was roomy and close by). The second bedroom was very comfortable, but being on a separate floor, our son was a little too young to sleep down there by himself. Had I known that, I would have booked a smaller room instead to save some $$$.
The rooms were big, the sheets were super comfortable and the checking in/out procedures were super easy. The kitchen was clean and well stocked (although some cooking oil would have been great!) and the bathrooms were nice and fresh.

New ZealandIt would be great to invest in larger sized coffee cups and wine glasses. I did also note that the interior is needing a bit of an uplift but its still all completely functional how it is at the moment.
Great communication regarding late check in instructions and then the instructions were really simple and easy to follow so no drama at all! Easy access to apartment with a great carpark down the back.
