Location is wonderful, very peaceful with views of the mountain. Has all the amenities you could ask for, hot tub, sauna etc. Room was well finished and very comfortable. What makes this please truly special though is the hosts, absolutely wonderful people who went well above and beyond what was required, even made the most amazing dumplings. Would highly recommend/

Beautiful location, unfortunately cloudy so hard to see the views. Lovely welcome on arrival, room was lovely decorated, everything we needed, breakfast was set up in our room which we loved, even got a little knock in the morning to ask if we'd like eggs cooking. Such lovely people. Bed comfortable, bath gorgeous wished we were staying longer.

The location; the cleanliness; the comfy bed; the accommodating host; the stars; the continental breakfast in our room: apples, oranges, oatmeal, cold cereal, milk, cookies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh squeezed orange juice. We had use of the well equipped kitchen. The host also offered a cooked dinner for an additional price. It looked and smelled delicious, however we did not partake.

Lovely quiet retreat to relax after a long day of hiking. The rooms and gardens were very beautiful with shared areas available as well.

Quiet and relaxing, breakfast setup was very convenient, seems to be tucked away from everything, but still close to town (~15 min drive) and not far from Tongariro Alpine crossing car park (~40 min drive). There are several common spaces available to guests such as the library, hot tub, sitting room and dining room.

Private and tucked away off the main road, with a stunning outlook back to the mountains. Fabulous host on the night, Sukhi cooked one of the best curries we've had in a long time. We made a good choice to have him cook rather than drive back to Ohakune in search of a meal. Arrangements, advices, payments all made with the minimum of fuss - thanks and hope to visit again in the months ahead.

Because food was prepared to order there were very strong cooking smells all of the time. Kind of a positive and a negative.

Location was perfect for us. Host was very friendly and willing to assist us. Sad we didn't arrive at a good time to enjoy a dinner as the cooking smelled wonderful!

The hotel hallways were really cold…it seemed like there was no heat outside of the rooms.

The room was gigantic and the view out of our sliding glass door was amazing. The shower was huge with great water pressure. The hotel provided necessities like milk and bread. Very comfortable bed!

Beautiful suite. Comfortable bed. Great large shower and bath. Loved the jacuzzi. Lovely dinner served in the big kitchen and large comfortable lounge area by the chef host. This place is quite unique with views overlooking Tongariro on your doorstep. Comfort all round. Suki was a fabulous host.

it was our wedding anniversary and even though the Tongariro suites did not offer a romance package, the went above and beyond setting up our room to make it a special occasion.

Used toilet roll on floor, pencil and rubbish under the tv cabinet, candle unusable in bathroom as it was burnt down to the base. Bathroom needed a better scrub in a few places. The sofa was pretty stained and needed a wash clean, we tried flipping cushions over and they were worse underneath. The Bathroom handsoap was so waterdown it sprayed all over you when you pumped it. Freezer still had frozen food in it from previous guests. Breakfast and toilet paper lasted only one day. Overall if you can overlook these things, and slightly odd way it is run - I would say this is up there with top places to stay in the area as the building and gardens are lovely.

Place had really good bones and great potential. We would stay again when the weather is better. Just needs some attention to detail, and proper hospitality training to make this a winner.
