Location is wonderful, very peaceful with views of the mountain. Has all the amenities you could ask for, hot tub, sauna etc. Room was well finished and very comfortable. What makes this please truly special though is the hosts, absolutely wonderful people who went well above and beyond what was required, even made the most amazing dumplings. Would highly recommend/

The location is stunning.

Wifi signal in Ruapehu room is not great at times but is doable.

The room was lovely - had everything we needed and was warm. Great outdoor setting. CJ was very friendly and helpful.

The room was very cold inside on arrival and in common areas. Given location bathroom or bathroom floor or towel rail heating would make it a 10

Comfy bed, clean room, beautiful views and quite place. Great Starlink free WIFI.

Smelly bathroom/toilet. Breakfast is in the room, you have to prepare it yourself. Not EV charger available.

Beautiful location, unfortunately cloudy so hard to see the views. Lovely welcome on arrival, room was lovely decorated, everything we needed, breakfast was set up in our room which we loved, even got a little knock in the morning to ask if we'd like eggs cooking. Such lovely people. Bed comfortable, bath gorgeous wished we were staying longer.

Not really clean, very little breakfast in room

The location; the cleanliness; the comfy bed; the accommodating host; the stars; the continental breakfast in our room: apples, oranges, oatmeal, cold cereal, milk, cookies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh squeezed orange juice. We had use of the well equipped kitchen. The host also offered a cooked dinner for an additional price. It looked and smelled delicious, however we did not partake.

Quiet location

Breakfast was space, I really didn't appreciate the fact that there was the kitchenette area next to the bed. It was very awkward. There was no seating area inside the unit to eat the breakfast??? Breakfast was rationed to 2 pieces of bread each and some sparce quantity of cereal. Yes I was hungry!! Afterwards When we arrived after 17.00 was a notice on laundry door that washing machine was unavailable after 15.00, well we were only there one night! Mighty strange

Room was clean and comfortable

My room opened directly into public area where food was being prepared and served. It was also too far away from local amenities(15km drive to nearest shop or restaurant) they did have a menu to select from which consisted of only Indian dishes so the lack of choice meant no food available for us.

Lovely quiet retreat to relax after a long day of hiking. The rooms and gardens were very beautiful with shared areas available as well.

Breakfast included was some continental options available in the room. For us this worked well! But just for awareness of others in case they are expecting cooked options.

Quiet and relaxing, breakfast setup was very convenient, seems to be tucked away from everything, but still close to town (~15 min drive) and not far from Tongariro Alpine crossing car park (~40 min drive). There are several common spaces available to guests such as the library, hot tub, sitting room and dining room.

We were checked in by what seemed like the only person who works there. He seemed very disinterested. Didn’t asked any questions. Nothing about the area or if we needed anything. Just didn’t seem to care. Very strange overall.
