Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Flannel winter sheets were on, but weather was warm during my stay late May, so maybe a bit early to switch to them. Easy enough to cool the room to compensate.
A full downstairs apartment, not just a room (I got the private queen option). Hosts were very kind and responsive, but their place is fantastic. Better appointed than a Marriott! Large bathroom and shower, with a towel warmer? Wow. Comfy carpet was so nice after days of hiking. A private lounge with a full set of continental breakfast options. This is now my preferred stay in Hamilton.

I had a wonderful stay! Craig and Jenny were incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was taken care of, including regularly refilling the breakfast items. The place was very comfortable, felt just like home, and I really appreciated the privacy throughout my stay. Highly recommend!

Excellent value for money, with a great location next to the lake, comfortable & clean accommodation and a very comfy bed. Simple but generous breakfast choices, with good variety offered. I particularly appreciated the large selection of teas and coffee. Very friendly and helpful host. Thank you very much!

Lighting in kitchen could have been brighter.
The breakfast was exceptional.. Excellent variety of cereals, fruit, teas and coffees. Location was perfect for visiting a family member at nearby Braemer Hospital. Beautiful bathroom. Very clean and comfortable b/b. Very friendly host. Great communication and , clear instructions.

Note that the rooms are located at -1, so expect less sun light than usual, if this is an issue for you.
Very cosy and tidy accomodation in an extremely convenient location. The real surprise was to discover that the accommodation consists of several rooms: a bedroom and a living room with TV, armchairs, a small desk and a small food corner with a refrigerator and microwave. Basically, breakfast is self-service and everything is always available right in the room. Extremely convenient!

Busy road, however closing the front windows shut out most of the noise.
We found the host super helpful and friendly, the space cosy and spacious with a comfortable bed, a good range of breakfast foods, and a modern and clean bathroom.

Craig is a very friendly host and was very helpful with the check-in and you can feel that he puts a lot of care in this place. The place you're staying is basically a small basement apartment with a bedroom, bathroom and small breakfast/living area. the location is very nice, across from a big park/lake and walking distance from the center. It's the perfect place if you want to do sightseeing around this part of the northern island. The breakfast area is nicely stocked.

We liked everything.
We thoughly enjoyed our stay at Twee Tuis. Craig was the perfect host, making us feel very welcome. The apartment is modern and well equipped. immaculate and very comfortable. It is well located just a short walk from the centre of Hamilton. We loved everything about it!

Twee Tuis is conveniently located very close to Hamilton Lake and at a walkable distance from InterCity Bus platform and CBD. The room was perfect for my stay. It has everything you may need. It was very clean and tidy. Craig was very kind and even suggested places to visit.
