Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Nothing, it was perfect!
This has been the best place we've stayed at this holiday (have stayed at 4 places around Tasman area). Beautiful accommodation, althought it was very modern, clean and tidy it felt more homely than most places. We loved it! The best bed we've slept on this holiday. Really nice towels, everything was excellent quality. Lovely view! Would absolutely recommend and we will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Excellent self contained apartment connected to the main house. Everything you need for a few days stay, full kitchen,seperate bedroom and bathroom. Lovely balcony with views out to the coast. All the furnishings and linens are good quality and the bed very comfortable. We did not meet the hosts at all but they had provided a basket of snacks.

Wonderful private annexe to a family home with your own entrance. Very clean. Very well equipped. Own parking spot. Lovely views over the bay from your own private balcony. Just the perfect spot for exploring the area. Could not recommend highly enough - perfect for our needs

Location was perfect & easy to find. We had a great night’s sleep & the bed was extremely comfortable. There was no noise & the view is amazing. The kitchen is very well equipped & we look forward to staying here again when we next come to Nelson.

Good facilities apart from a washing machine for extended stays but I’m sure host would have accommodated this if asked. I had relatives nearby.

It would have been helpful to have some oven mitts and a potato masher!
This was a property of high standard. The view was wonderful with easy access. As the property was relatively new, the facilities were modern and well presented. It is compact but with good storage.

Lovely place to stay, I will definitely stay here again. Very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and warm and cozy apartment with a lovely view. Great communication from hosts and I look forward to returning :)

There really isn't anything we would improve. We really enjoyed our overnight stay here.
Great homestay in a residential area that was safe, quiet and away from town centre! The apartment offers amazing views of Nelson harbour and we chose this as it was very close to friends who live nearby. We stayed in autumn so the underfloor heating in the bathroom and electric blankets were a nice touch. Super private and exceptionally clean. The welcome pack of popcorn, crackers & cookies was a nice touch.

A wee but uphill for walking but made the view of the sunrise spectacular. Great car parking.
The cleanliness, tastefully decorated beautiful bedlinen, wonderful view, many extras with crackers and chocolates. Excellent.

Our hosts, a lovely couple and their friendly dog, met us upon arrival. It’s a clean, comfortable, quiet and beautifully appointed apartment, in a modern home overlooking the town. Our hosts provided us with a welcome basket with lots of ‘goodies’ to eat: home baked cookies, chocolates, chips, bottled water. They suggested nice places to have dinner and to sightsee. Wish we had been able to stay longer!
