Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThat we were unable to extend our stay due to our travel schedule!!!!
Spaciousness. View. Amenities. Bruce and his partner relaxed hosting style. Proximity to things. The champagne. Comfy beds. Blankets to keep you warm at sunset.

JapanAmong the many wonderful accomodations on Waiheke Island, we chose Wild Thyme because they gave detailed information about the location and facilities, which made it easy for us to imagine what our stay would be like. AND Wild Thyme was PERFECT in every way! The rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, and were spotlessly clean. The view from the terrace was breathtaking, while the place is located in a convenient area, shops and the beach of Onorea within walking distance. Most of all, Jules and Bruce were great hosts, being attentive and kind. It is all thanks to their welcome, my parents and I truly enjoyed an unforgettable vacation. Another BIG attraction is Jule's Wine Tour! The information is also written on the notebook provided in your room. I highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here. She asked us about our wine preferences in advance and came up with the Perfect plan. We visited Allpress Olive Groves, Tantalus, Man O'War+lunch, Waiheke Gin Distillery and Passage Rock. It may have been partly because it was winter and the wineries were quiet, but Jules arranged with the winery staff to grant our selfish request to try wines(bubbles!) that were not on the regular tasting menu! She even arranged for us to taste limited edition gin at the distillery. She took us to hard-to-reach places in the east and south of the island, such as ManO'War and Passage Rock, where we enjoyed not only the drinks but also the charms of the island as a whole. It's only been a week since I returned home, but I already feel a strong desire to go back.

United StatesOur Wild Thyme stay was above & beyond anything we imagined. The view of Oneroa Bay from our stay was a breathtaking. Bruce & Jules were the most welcoming, friendly, and helpful hosts. The room was very comfortable & had everything we needed for our stay. The patio was the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee & tea, and our afternoon glass of wine while looking out over the bay. If we are fortunate enough to return to Waiheke Island, we would love to stay at Wild Thyme again.

AustraliaMaybe the pillows. Only because I'm fussy and like a feather pillow to sleep on!! But really couldn't fault a thing.
The location was fabulous. The garden setting and views were beautiful, our hosts Bruce and Jules were exceptional. They picked us up from the ferry and offered to take us where we needed. It made our holiday so easy. They were the best.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Some may struggle with the walk up the hill but not so bad and taxis available from the town if needed.
Jules and Bruce were very welcoming and hospitable. Great to be picked up from the ferry and they were happy to run us around locally if required. Really helpful suggestions on where to go to see and eat and walks etc. Very comfortable room with everything you need for breakfast but no kitchen per se. Nice touch to have milk and a bottle of fizz in the fridge.

New ZealandTV remote would not operate TV. Suggest new batteries could fix the problem.
Only spent one night . The Studio was fine for the two of us. There was some cereal for breakfast but thought a little fruit would have been better. The lady looking after the property went down the road and bought some which was very nice .
