Staff was very welcoming, hospitality was great. The place was very unique it. The room was very comfortable and clean we managed to sleep very well. Many parts of the old house was open to explore and you can see the history of the place. There is a gift shop on the ground floor which is handy for getting souvinirs. Our booking had breakfast included which as served from the cafe on the ground floor (handy for getting coffee to go as well). The location is great for our travels (next to Taqa castle and within walking distance from borj al asker). All in all, a very unique and highly-recommended experience.

Koofan heritage is a cozy stay filled with culture and heritage of Oman portrayed together - if you like the old ancient cultural buildings this is definetly your pick. And the hotel manager suheib Rahman I have no words to express the hospitality he provided during my stay-. He made sure everything was super comfortable for me . And he really made sure everything was perfect for his guest. He is a gem of the property . And on top of that his language skills are also perfect. They provided me to try their cultural Omani dresss and took for me many photoes even . It was and will be my best stay in salalah .

The staff first and foremost were excellent and so attentive. Sohair was extremely hospitable and Hammad very enjoyable to be accompanied by during my tours with him. The property itself is one of a kind- set in a historic building turned museum and hotel, it was like being transported back in time. A true getaway.

Koofan heritage house is amazing! It was built in 1880 and it retains its traditional character. It is built of thick stone and decorated in traditional furniture. It has modern conveniences such as air conditioning and fully functioning plumbing but still retains an old feel. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. However, if you are looking for luxury like a Hilton please don’t come here. It is for someone who wants a taste of the past. You eat a traditional breakfast in the morning across from the old fort and really get to know the employees. You get to meet the owner and feel like you are staying as a guest at his house.

I had the pleasure of staying at Koofan Heritage Hotel during my recent trip to Salalah, and I can confidently say it was one of the highlights of my journey. From the moment I stepped in, I felt immersed in the warmth of Omani culture and heritage. The atmosphere of the hotel is deeply authentic, and it offers a unique sense of peace and comfort that is hard to describe but impossible to forget. The quality of sleep was exceptional , the room was calm, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the natural surroundings made it feel like I was in a serene oasis away from the modern world. The subtle fragrance of natural materials like clay, Luban, wood, and stone gave the space a grounding and peaceful aroma that made me feel instantly at home. It’s rare to find a place where the building itself tells a story, and at Koofan, every wall, texture, and scent speaks of tradition and harmony with nature. A special thanks goes to Mr. Chouaib, whose hospitality, professionalism, and genuine kindness made my stay even more memorable. The entire staff was attentive and welcoming, but Mr. Chouaib truly stood out for his story telling with a personal touch and dedication. Without a doubt, I will reconsider Koofan Heritage Hotel for my next trip to Salalah. If you’re sick from star hotels experiences like myself! Go for it and thank me later!

​We recently spent three nights at Koofan Heritage Lodge, and honestly, we wish we could have stayed longer! If you're looking for an authentic place to truly feel the spirit of Oman, this is the perfect spot. ​From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were part of a family. Everything at Koofan is done with heart and soul, and you can feel the passion the owner and staff have for sharing their culture. The owner has put so much care into making this a unique experience, a place that tells a story and makes sure every guest has the most wonderful stay in Oman. ​The breakfast was a genuine Omani experience, a perfect way to start our days. And the bed… it was heavenly! The comfort was exceptional. ​Koofan also has a wonderful cafe on-site. The coffee there is the best in all of Salalah, so good that we even came back after we checked out just to have one more cup! They also have a restaurant serving delicious traditional Omani food, a museum to learn more about the region's history, and a shop with beautiful local products. ​This isn't just a place to sleep; it’s a destination in itself. Koofan offers a truly unique and immersive experience that goes beyond a typical hotel stay. We're already planning our return trip!

Really enjoyable stay. Perfectly located in the heart of quiet village of Taqah. Staff were exceptional and make sure you feel welcome, gave me a tour of the house which also doubles as a museum during the day. Coffee shop right next door where you can socialise with the locals. When I come back to Oman I will definitely stay again.

This place is just fantastic. History, tradition, design, atmosphere, hospitality... And the knowledgeable team, who go out of their way to accommodate to your needs and make sure you have a fantastic stay. I wish I could give them 12 out of 10. It's not just a place to stay. It's an entire experience. I also highly recommend joining a tour with their team, as their offerings are very flexible, interesting and reasonably priced.

Staying in Koofan Heritage Lodge will take you back centuries as you will be immersed in Oman's authentic architecture, food and meet the friendly owner of the place and learn about the history of the place and about his ancestors. I highly recommend not only coming in for a visiting but staying here instead of a modern hotel to feel what the rich Oman's past has to offer. The Lodge houses a museum, and views over the old town of Taqa. The place is equipped with wifi, hot water and friendly customer service, hence you can enjoy all the comforts of the modern world, while enjoying an immersion into the past. This was the second time I stayed in Koofan Lodge, and will do so again if I visit Dhofar in the future.

My experience at the Koran Heritage Lodge was excellent. Our room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The lodge is an old house that was restored to house both a hotel and a museum. Being there was going back in time, the atmosphere was magic. The breakfast was simple but very tasty. I can say that it was some of the best fool (a fava bean dish) I have had in my life. The staff were amazing too. Suhebur was an excellent host. He welcomed us, gave us useful advice on where to go in Taqah and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I would definitely stay there again.

Everything was perfect

An absolutely wonderful stay at Koofan Heritage Lodge. Right from the warm welcome we received by Mr Suhebur Rahman to all the comforts of our short stay, we felt at home. The property is restored beautifully and gives an authentic experience of staying in a traditional Omani house. It is a museum in itself. Every corner of the entire lodge has elements of the old days and it takes you back to the past. Rooms were clean with traditional wooden furniture and comfortable bed & linen. Special mention to the frankincense lit in many places, the best room freshener ever. There’s a cafe with tea/coffee and desserts. Couple of nearby restaurants serve good food so lunch/dinner would be a few mins walk from the lodge. Very peaceful stay. Would surely come back again.

There is nothing to not like about this property because its a old heritage house some of the rooms have shared toilet and shower and also the breakfast was ok can be much better.

Lovely guest house, brimming full of character. Super friendly and helpful staff and great location. A real sense of history with an onsite museum and characterful, unique rooms. Really enjoyed our family stay and would recommend to others.
