This hotel should not be open yet. I understand that as a new business owner you want to start earning back some of your investment but right now it's not worth a visit and will surely generate negative reviews that will impact negatively in the future. We were there end of July 2025 and were the only guests. Restaurant was closed so no breakfast or even water, coffee or tea. With 3 small kids this was very inconvenient. Lots of building materials laying around. Very dusty floors. No actual work done though. But why we left after one night was the lack of curtains and the weird noises the Air-conditioning made. This broke up our much needed sleep. Also, the room just was not clean, including the bathroom. Fortunately the hotel owner was understanding and we were given a refund.

The one thing that stands out is its fantastic location, right on Playa Estero. Great view and right on the beach. And also the outdoor area is really pretty with a small pool and nice woodwork surrounding it. Would love to come back when the hotel is actually done. Because..

We stayed here for 3 nights from 28th June to 1st July. Supposedly the hotel was in their ‘soft launch’ until 1 July thus their nightly rates are discounted but the lack of facilities was beyond acceptable. Checking in caused confusion - it felt as if they didn’t know we were coming and so we had to wait despite checking in after 3pm. The room was dirty - dust over bedside tables, all over the floor, toothpaste in sink, shower doors not clean. We had no hot water the entire stay despite being told this was installed. After a power cut, we had no running water at all. Very loud drilling going on next to us during the day making it impossible to relax. Same by the pool. On one occasion, a worker sat directly outside our window on the balcony during their break which was strange. There’s also no privacy curtains. The location is nice by the beach but 1.5km from cafes and restaurants. No restaurant at the hotel and no fridge or tea/ coffee making facilities. We stayed an additional night in Santa Catalina but chose to stay elsewhere for half the price. We were also provided with contact details for Paul, the owner - who we text and messaged on WhatsApp but got no reply.

Since it was opening week at Costa Catalina, there was still a lot to finish around the property and the staff was actively working on improvements — but it didn’t take away from the experience.

I got a free upgrade to the Upper Level Suite. The view was absolutely amazing! The king bed was super comfortable, the room was clean, and the location was perfect for relaxing. The rooms are simple, but very clean and have everything you need. I had a great stay and would definitely come back.

    Nothing

The room was small yet comfortable and had everything I needed. I took surfing lessons right out front, and the instructor met me at the hotel, which was super convenient. Great location.
