Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilI'm a surfer, so being right in front of the peak is amazing, but my wife would have loved to have some sand to spread out on. The Pool is right across the street though...

Really nice place, well decorated as in Asia. The integration with the jungle and the sea oriented construction. Good external pool, sauna, yoga deck and gym. Good kitchen!

IsraelRestaurant in the hotel is super expensive and doesn't have a lot of options. The hotel is pretty far from the island city center, we needed to take a taxi for dinner.
Beautiful hotel near by the beach. The room was big and comfy. We had direct view to the ocean. All services were good, from yoga classes to laundry, bicycle rent and really good breakfast. Several pools , some heated , all in good shape. We had amazing stay, highly recommend.

Resort in style of Bali. Impeccably clean, beautifully furnished. Staff were very accommodating and spoke both English and Spanish. Food was gourmet.

United StatesI was not sure what to expect of the resort because of some of the reviews I saw. But our stay was terrific! The staff were attentive and always around with a suggestion of what to do, where to eat or to get you a taxi. The Spa treatments were wonderful. The food was amazing. Pillows were comfortable and plentiful. The resort itself was beautiful and secluded. A wonderful stay that I would highly recommend.

United KingdomThe spa Amenities were vast with a lot of optional classes and activities and the food was really amazing and tasty. Possibly a little pricey, but it was amazing every night we ate there. We had a great server in particular who’s name was Bekar. He gave us spot on recommendations and was really friendly and attentive, making our experience even better! We did have an issue with the air conditioning in our room and it seemed to also be an issue in another room too, but the hotel was super accommodating and offered us an offered us an upgrade to a villa as a result which was a really nice thing to do. Didn’t love the fact that shuttles to the city centre were charged and also charged per person. This could be made a free service as part of the hotel or charged at a standard fee. The hotel itself is beautiful but the beach itself isn’t suitable for sunbathing or swimming. If you want to spend time on the beach you need to take a shuttle to their sister beach (30 mins away) or pay to go to another beach altogether. The food is exceptional but at least double the price of all other high end restaurants in the area. Other than that, all was amazing.

NetherlandsNothing really to mention. It was a wonderful stay!
The ground were absolutely wonderful. Service throughout was very accommodating and attentive. The offered yoga sessions are very professionally done and the setting is absolutely stunning. While the location of the hotel is convenient and relatively close to town, the road leading up to the hotel is pretty rough and the road to the beach club that is managed (or owned) by the hotel is quite far. Still worth a trip. The beach bar has a nice menu. For a longer stay I found the selections on the menu a bit limited. If you stay 2 or 3 nights, it is absolutely fine.

United StatesFrom the moment we arrived, we felt like we had been transported to Bali. The entire hotel is stunning, with lush gardens, serene surroundings, and beautifully designed spaces that create an oasis of relaxation. The spa was an absolute highlight offering a cold plunge, sauna, and heat treatments in a setting that truly feels like a jungle retreat. The staff was exceptional, always helpful and welcoming. A special thank you to Benny, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring restful nights. We also loved the beach club, which was just a minute away. It was the perfect place to unwind, surf, and enjoy delicious food with an ocean view. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing. We can’t wait to return!

PeruI didn’t mind but it does have a lot of steps, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to older people struggling to walk too much, or people with disabilities.
it was beautiful and the service was excellent. delicious food and surrounded by nature. a jewel of bocas del toro. the beach club they have in bluff beach was great. the hotel is a high end surfers paradise, but even if you don’t surf (like us) the hotel has many amazing yoga classes, meditations and included spa services that you can enjoy as well as a bunch of treatments that we didn’t try but looked amazing. the rooms are beautiful, super clean and they have a balcony that looks into the jungle that is very special. I genuinely loved my experience, wish I could’ve stayed longer!can’t recommend this enough

PortugalThe hotel is primarily a place for relaxation, as there aren’t many activities or attractions nearby. While it’s not a traditional beach resort, the beach in front of the hotel is better suited for surfing rather than swimming. However, the hotel provides transportation to a nearby spot with a calmer, sandier beach, where one of their restaurants is also located.
Fantastic relatively new Hotel, incredible grounds, a lush green paradise. Rooms are great, Spa is out of this world. 2 pools, one by the sea and one in the middle of the jungle at the spa. Amazing. The sunrises are incredible, the sun comes up, surfers catching the first waves … what a sight.

United KingdomLeaving....... I'd probably only mention the price of the spa. Expensive compared to other 5 star hotels but it wouldn't stop me returning. Also due to the strong surf we couldn't swim in the sea at all during our stay. I'm not sure if it's typical of the stretch of coastline or just when we were there but again not a deal breaker to return and obviously out of the hands of the hotel.
Everything! The decor, the staff, the atmosphere, the situation, the facilities and the hotel dog 😎. The owner of the hotel even arranged a tv screen for us to watch the Six Nations Rugby so what an incredible place to sit and watch the game looking out onto paradise. Special mentions to Benny and Bekar who made our stay wonderful. Always smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. I read before I booked here that some of the service was not good. I found the complete opposite. It was the perfect balance of attention and delivery. We had one of the sea view rooms where we listened to the sea and watched the surfers morning to night. If you are looking for a quiet room where you cant' hear the roar of the sea I'd book one of the garden rooms.

IrelandBeautiful place. Amazing facilities. If you are looking for a slice of comfort and wellness, but with a remote feel, this is the spot. We only spent 3 days here, but we left feeling the staff were very friendly, the buildings were beautiful and bed was very comfortable. We had our own suite, separate to any other rooms with a sea view l, deck and a huge 4 poster. Nice and cool with the aircon because it was humid and hot in the wet season. Access to lots of beaches and tours through the main town or a short drive north to bluff beach, the hotel has a driver who will ferry you. Food was great. Not a huge amount of options but to be expected with the remoteness of location, breakfast was great. The gym was great and empty. We didn't do any of the classes, but used the sauna and plunge every morning, which was a saviour. We spent about 800 dollars in the hotel on food, drinks, a day tour of the islands and tips between the two of us in 3 days. Only thing is it takes a bit of travel if you are coming from outside the country, you will need to transfer airports in panama city and get a regional flight to bocas del toro. But that's an expected trade off for the environment. You deal with the front desk through WhatsApp which was so convenient, much better method than through the room phone, but there is always someone at the front desk too. We got engaged while here and the staff were very supportive. Loved it

United KingdomThe only thing I could say is about 50% of the staff aren’t very friendly the other 50% are super helpful, friendly and accommodating. I’ve read some of the older reviews and other guests have noticed the same thing. When I was sitting by the pool, No one came to get my order (twice) and I always had to go up to the bar to get a menu, and no one came to ask me what I thought of the food and then I’d have to ask for the bill myself. I felt like I was annoying people by asking them when I wanted to order food. I think for a five star Place that’s not okay. If they worked on this, they would get five stars from me.
The whole place is absolutely beautiful! A Truly stunning resort. Beds very comfortable The Spa was spectacular. Food was fantastic! Best risotto of my life!
