How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Staff not one hour allowed for a late check out charging 11 usd per extra hour, I know every hotel has its policies but this MUST BE PUBLISHED a frequent traveller with many discounts available in other chains if I should known this before I would have book a more expensive room with more flexibility in other hotel

Verified reviewExcellent location, walking distance to a shopping mall and different food places. And 10 to 15 minute drive to various activities.
The breakfast menu didn’t change much, was eating the same thing every other day. The fruits were my go too. A microwave in the room would have been nice especially with long stay.

Verified reviewEverything was excellent. 2nd stay at the hotel, so that says a lot. Would prefer a little more variety with the breakfast choices, however fruits were excellent.

Verified reviewTHE staff was very helpful, they translate because of the language barrier. They would smile when you're passing by, and the breakfast was nice, there where so many options to choose from. Plus, the staff had different options everyday, the breakfast was never the same. All of the staff that I encountered was nice.
There was nothing I didn't nice.

Verified reviewThe area and the view
Very poor food menu, they have not modernized the rooms, they are the same as 13 years ago that I went for the first time, the attention of the front desk is not the best, cockroaches came out in the rooms, the room service deficient and poorly attended, the televisions in the rooms very small and old. The truth is very sad to see how the quality and service has deteriorated. It was my last time in that hotel

Verified reviewThe room was very big and spacious
I didn't like that I had ask by way of a massage if when I check in if there would be an additional fees or tax and the responses was no you pay the price to booked and nothing more but when I get there I had to pay an additional fee ,the breakfast was disappointing the same thing every day for 7 days and no options for kids no pancakes, bacon, waffles, nuggets just the same boring stuff every morning with probably 1 exception, I had to ask for a hair dryer , coffee maker and iron which was in the amenities, the room was very cold don't matter what you do and the taxi service for the hotel is very expensive double what you would pay Uber or yellow cab and at the pool i was told if its not purchases at the hotel I couldn't eat it at the poolside but the staff was very nice and always will to help I don't think I will stay there again to much traffic in the area and to little food options mostly fast food only hotel's restaurants i didn't hate the hotel don't mind it's dated the surroundings is to busy with traffic like staying next to a highway.

Verified reviewThe property was close to an outlet shopping mall. The rooms could stand to be updated. WiFi was not always available in the room I was in, was moved to next floor up and the room was more updated with great WiFi.
Megapolis Hotel next door to the Decapolis is much nicer, brighter, and more updated. I don’t know what the rooms look like. I was told that both properties have the same owner. I ate and hung out at the Megapolis Hotel even though my room was at the Decapolis Hotel. I would have gladly paid the extra 60.00 to stay at the Megapolis instead.

Verified reviewMost of the staff can speak English. The location is excellent and the cost of taking Uber to the Mall and other tourist attractions is very cheap.
No small towels available.

Verified reviewGood location
Awful experience. First we were sent to the wrong room and a naked guy opened the door. Then no hot water. Then no coffee maker in room, then got yelled at by staff because we went to the wrong breakfast when there were NO signs. Also called room service to order at 928 when they close at 930 and we could not get food. Never stay there again.

Verified reviewThe views make the stay absolutely worth it. Book a room with an ocean view (if you don't, I'm pretty sure you'll be looking at the back of the building behind the hotel), and request to be as high up as you can--trust me. The gym was just enough for me to get a varied, solid workout. Close proximity to a wide variety of places you'll want to go.
The hotel is clearly ready for an interior overhaul. The bed itself was wonderful, but the rest of the furniture shows its age. Breakfast was satisfying but not amazing. They keep a tight eye on who is coming and going into the building, which can be both good and not-so-good depending on your circumstances. Walking anywhere besides the sparsely occupied mall across the street (COVID casualty) is a bit iffy, but Ubers are a fantastic alternative.

Verified reviewFairly good value for money but don’t expect a 5-star hotel (don’t know how it has obtained a 5 star rating).
The facilities are worn and outdated. Location is good for connection to the airport but at rush hours the traffic is very slow to areas like Casco Viejo
