How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Saigon Bay B&B, so this review will only highlight some of the features we won’t forget. First, Angie and Nicolas are amazing - kind, welcoming, friendly and generous. It felt like being home, which is the best feeling when you are so far, geographically. Nicolas’ breakfasts are delicious, and the perfect way to start the day. Saigon is a residential neighbourhood, partially on the water, so you get what life in Bocas Del Toro truly is (and you will go to sleep listening to the waves of the sea!). The outside space of the property is dreamy and perfect to chill at the sunset with a cold beer. Last, but not least, the B&B is incredibly clean!

Verified reviewFantastic BnB with fantastic hosts. Absolutely gorgeous location on the water, stingrays and fish going by. Out of the main hustle and bustle of the town in a lovely quiet area just 5 mins in a taxi or bike that they provide free of charge. Breakfast was incredible. Lots of choices and delicious with the backdrop of the bay in front of you. They also provide lots of tips of where to go. Couldn't recommend it more.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was excellent: energy bowel, scrambled eggs, omelet, coffee, fruit juice, coconut bread. The inn is over the water and your back yard is the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. It is off the beaten path. There are free kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling gear. The hosts are wonderful. We had an emergency, and Angie took the time to help us and used her own phone (ours didn't work) to rebook our flight. They helped us book taxis. Nicolas helped us get a private snorkeling tour. We saw four dolphins on the way back. We couldn't have asked for a more tranquil place!

Verified reviewNicolas was a very friendly host, and the breakfast—freshly prepared every day—was absolutely delicious, with a choice of five different dishes. This is the ideal BnB for anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet stay. The free bike provided by the accommodation made it easy to reach the city center in just a few minutes. It's worth noting that the rooms are not serviced, but I personally didn’t find that to be a problem. Thank you so much for having me!

Verified reviewBeautiful setting, lots of space outside to relax on the deck (get the room with it's own outdoor space - worth it for the private hammock!), free kayak and bikes for guests to use, recommendations for takeaways (including healthy options!), restaurants, beaches, running routes etc, amazing breakfast, beer available to buy, lovely room, strong AC. The host Angie was also really quick to respond to all my messages, and very efficient at helping sort things out for me once I'd arrived at Saigon Bay. Would definitely return!!
Distance from town is good and bad. It was quieter (although some neighbours are still a fan of loud music), but you'll you need to grab taxis/buses really - just a bit too far to walk in the heat. Also, as with a lot of Panama, there's a lot of litter around. People don't respect nature as much as they could 😔 (to be clear, the b&b itself was spotless!)

Verified reviewEfficient check in and check out, nice location above the water with a great view, quiet and well-kept place, good breakfast. We felt it was great value for the price in Bocas. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, it was very much appreciated.
The location is about 20 min by foot from Bocas town center, but it was fine for us. It's also good to know that they offer to lend a few bikes so, if we also consider the taxis, that leaves plenty of options.

Verified reviewThis place is literally one of mine & my partners favourite place we’ve ever stayed in🤍. Everything was just wonderful - Angie & Nicolas are incredible hosts and always so friendly and welcoming, the breakfasts are AMAZING (I’m really sad we only stayed for long enough to try 3 out of the 5 options, but all of them were perfect!), the bed is super comfortable and the hammock and listening to the ocean was just beautiful. Also, there were so many smaller details that were really great, shampoo & conditioner, beers & cokes in the fridge for you, games, condiments, and books to read! OH, and there are even kayaks, snorkels and bikes that guest can use, we loved our kayak trip out! 😍 Both Angie & Nicolas have perfected the ‘home away from home’ feel, and we hope one day to be right back here 🫶🏼
If I HAD to choose something, I guess maybe just having some Coke zeros as well as normal ones - but that’s just me being fussy (because I’m diabetic🤣), but that’s it! 🫶🏼

Verified reviewI found the bed comfortable and enjoyed the simple breakfast that was offered. The view from where you eat was also nice because it is right on the water.
There's a strong odor that must be from the water, I thought it was the toilet since the paper is not flushed and not removed from the bin the entire time I was while I was there. You can hear a it of noise from the street, but I mostly heard the other house guest enjoy at nights. I also was in a room that leaked from the ceiling, it was a decent amount but I wasn't swimming in it. Lastly I was asked specifically what time I would be there and expected someone to be listening out, but that was not the case. I knocked, rang the bell and 15 minutes left. It is a good walk to town, but with a suitcase etc., not so much. I was told the battery was out. The thing is, if you ask for a time of arrival I would think in that hour you would be watching out for the arrival. I did ask for a discount for my inconveniences znd was told they offered to wash my clothes and also gave me juice with coffee. However they never told me these were extra and was for my inconveniences.

We also addressed the ceiling leak promptly after you brought it to our attention. Regarding your checkout request for a $35 discount, we want to reiterate that we strive to provide exceptional service to all of our guests, and we were disappointed that you felt the need to request additional compensation despite the extra accommodations we offered. In regard to the odor you mentioned, it is our utmost priority to ensure that all of our guests feel comfortable and at home during their stay. We value honest communication about matters related to personal hygiene and cleanliness. After your departure, we had to leave the room you stayed in closed for several days to allow the lingering odor to dissipate, which has resulted in additional challenges for our small family-run bed and breakfast. Your feedback about the noise from other guests and the street is valued, and we will take it into consideration for future improvements. We continuously strive to enhance our services to ensure a better experience for all visitors. We would like to clarify that it is our policy to check on guests when given an arrival time, and we regret that there was a miscommunication in your case. Lastly, we maintain a high standard for all of our guests and take pride in our reputation, which is reflected in our excellent score of 9.4 on Booking.com. Verified reviewThis is a really lovely place to stay! We were there for 4 nights in total. We really did love being so close to the sea and being able to appreciate the sunset and the beautiful mornings. The property was very clean and very well maintained and we felt so comfortable. Nicholas was very attentive and always good to chat to. He was able to give advice for day trips (especially when you can avoid $30 each for tours). Breakfast was served every morning to an extremely high standard which was very tasty and Nicholas supplied me with endless coffee. Thank you to Nicholas and Angie who made our stay memorable and one of the highlights of our travels.
We like everything but just adding it’s a 20 min walk to the urban area BUT you can get a taxi for £1 (yes one) per person.

Verified reviewIt was awesome. The owners are so super friendly and professional. Everything is clean and thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. We went here in May 24 and the whole island seemed to be under construction. We felt like the Saigon B&B was the only peaceful, clean and quiet place to be. The breakfast ist great! I loved the coconut French toast - the best I ever had! Would definitely stay here again. My husband travels a lot for business and in privat. Most Hostels in Europe are less good. Great!

My room was very tiny with a bunk bed which was a little difficult for me a 69year old women to manage at night. They also have other rooms though and if you are in my age group just consider choosing a different room.

Not the properties fault but the road works made the walk to Bocas Town (most of the restaurants) feel longer
