How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was great. A bit difficult getting to/from downtown as the hotel is far from both the airport and downtown. I knew I wanted a beach setting so that was grand. The hotel is extremely well managed!

DO NOT BOOK this hotel.. PLEASE.. Nightmare Graduation Celebration at the Westin Playa Bonita I normally dont write reviews, but felt the need to warn those who are planning to stay here. My recent stay at the Westin Playa Bonita in Panama City for a graduation celebration turned into an absolute headache. This hotel should be ashamed of its poor service and subpar facilities. First off, the room was a huge letdown with no mini bar, which is almost unheard of in a hotel like this. To add insult to injury, there was a complete lack of a hot tub, it was a bath tub with a ring around it, making it impossible to enjoy after our long days. The shower walls were disgusting and were not cleaned properly. There was coming structure being done at the hotel which woke us up with loud banging at 7:30am in the morning. No rest was recieved that morning. We tried to communicate with the hotel staff and they were not much help; however, there were a couple of staff members that were really nice, but spoke broke ln English. If you are expecting a beautiful ocean view, think again..The **ocean view** was next to nonexistent, with **receding water** making the beach experience feel like a cruel joke. I felt utterly ripped off as the hotel was overpriced for everything we received. We paid for breakfast, which was unavailable at times, throwing our plans into disarray. Access to the executive lounge was very limited, and the pool closed ridiculously early, ruining our chance to unwind at night and enjoy fun with my family & friends. On top of that, the lack of bilingual staffmade every interaction a frustrating challenge. I was overcharged for various services, and when I ordered room service, it took over an hour to arrive. When it finally did, we were met with trash left in our room – how could they let this slide? The hotel even had the audacity to charge us a staggering $250 just for taking photos with a standard camera. Absolutely ridiculous!

Verified reviewLobby area is ok
Rooms are old and run down to some extent. Beach is lousy. Rocks in the sand and very ugly water. Not worthwhile. Also the location is far from the city and traffic is awful. We actually left early and checked into a truly luxurious hotel.

Verified reviewThe resort is huge but a bit outdated. The hotel came up with a lot of events planned to entertain guests. The staff are nice and what I have noticed is most staff speak English compared to the hotels in the city. I also love that they are pet friendly
During peak hours, I had a difficult time ordering room service. I cannot even get through the line, it just kept on ringing. I had to wait until much later to place an order. I also didn't like that restaurants are closed most of the time during my stay. Only a few are open, but some are not. And there are no clear signages on the restaurant doors on their operating hours. The mini bar in the room is empty. So if you want something from the mini bar, you have to call the staff. Which again is not so convenient. Also basics such as dental set, robes, slippers are not available in the room. You have to ask for those specifically.

Verified reviewVery comfortable, the hotel is beautiful, good location, staff is very kind, food was great
Some things are too overpriced there so if you don’t buy the full package, you will have to pay a lot extra. And also, you should have more diversity in the activities of the night, to make the stay even cooler.

Verified reviewBeautiful views and facilities-pools were fabulous. Beach walks were lovely with lifeguards very vigilant. Restaurant staff sang happy birthday and made a huge effort for my husbands birthday dinner celebration. They were amazing at the steak House restaurant. The Spa had balloons from floor to ceiling for couples massage which was breath taking and very special experience.
Booked a suite for my husbands 50th and requested surprise upon arrival which I paid 234 USD for entailing 6 balloons, bottle of sparking wine, strawberry dipped in chocolate with customised birthday greeting on plate; also there were rose petals placed on bed in shape of 50. However housecleaning took away all the rose petals leaving the room bare on his actual birthday. We were only there for 2 nights. Our room was not replenished with water or other usual supplies which was also quite disappointing. Food at the resort was limited and not in line with other Westin Resorts I have been to. My lobster dish had one piece of undercooked lobster tail which again was quite alarming. Otherwise dish was excellent. Sauna in spa was out of service-facilities in Spa were quite restricted given size of the Spa. For some unknown reason our bed was very damp on the first night-not sure if it's because the air con was so cold and high humidity or just damp bed-have never experienced this before.
