Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe only complaint - which is too big a word for it - was a lack of soap / toiletries since it's quite a trip to town. SO pack your own and come enjoy this gem.
Great stay, great host, beautiful view!

BelgiumDescription of the rooms does not match the number of travellers. Family room is not accessible to 4 persons and Double room can be booked for 4 persons.
Fabienne and Franck are very friendly. The place is easy to find on the gravel road towards Cacique. The differentiating asset are the animals around the property and especially the monkeys shouting at sunrise and sunset. Frank can arrange for you a tour on the same day: we enjoyed the day tour by boat in the mangrove and the islands. Starting point is 400 m from the house walking along the road.

United StatesThis is a jungle lodge, not a luxury resort. Nevertheless, the facilities are spacious and comfortable. The rooms have air conditioning units, which you can turn on as needed, or open the doors to enjoy the view and wildlife. The owners, a French couple, provide a delicious breakfast, and dinners if you request in advance. Franck has coordinated with locals to provide optional daytime excursions at reasonable prices. Our first full day, we took an arranged boat excursion to local islands, including Isla Grande which has restaurant choices for lunch.. Our second day, we took an arranged jungle hike and climb. We highly recommend both. We saw and heard lots of wildlife, which was our main reason for visiting this area of Panama.

United StatesBathroom sink had very little pressure, but it really wasn't an issue. Shower water pressure was great though!
Excellent hosts, amazing location, nice homemade breakfast and dinner, lovely surroundings in the middle of the rainforest and with a view of the ocean. We enjoyed watching monkeys from our balcony and seeing Ramon the sloth. Appreciated the recommendation for horse riding and for dinner at the nearby marina. Do not hesitate to stay here!

SpainThe establishment does not follow booking.com policy. It is listed as free cancelation prior to a certain date. I had originally booked for new years, but canceled a week prior to the listed deadline as my friend's flight was canceled. When I re-booked 3 weeks later, the owners wrote me to say that- while the property was again listed as free cancelation, that no longer applied to me. I would have to leave a 200$ payment if I wanted my reservation. I should canceled then. It is not a boutique hotel and it does not have a restaurant. It is a bed and breakfast owned by owners that seem overwhelmed and are at times (unintendedly?) rude and offer poor service. When we arrived, the owner asked me "if my daughter was clean". His Spanish (and English) are a bit rusty, so I assumed I was misunderstanding. However he repeated it asking me if my daughter "is clean, or if she was going to make "chichi" in his beds" (while pointing at his groin for clarity). This may be a language barrier, but we are in Panama, it would be useful to know how to not offend your guests in Spanish. I had previously written asking if we needed a car or if we would be able to walk to the beach etc, I was told no car necessary. When we arrived at 5:30 pm, after the rude comments, we were informed that Booking.com was wrong, there was no restaurant or dinner for us. Dinner had to be requested in the morning at breakfast. Instead we could walk in the dark (this place is secluded) to a local Fonda. The Fonda was super close (200m), but it is a dusty, empty, remote, wooded road, where the light from a phone does nothing to illuminate the path. The next night, the fish plate was good. But we explained that one was a celiac who can't fish and asked for simple rice and vegetables. Instead he made couscous and was offended that they couldn't eat it. We were charged the full 25$ for the plate of vegetables.
Beautiful remote location, able to see sloths, toucans and hear the holler monkeys from the terrace.

United KingdomHotel was remote driving down a difficult road which would have been worthwhile if the accommodation was worth it. Views from balcony were very nice but the room was at best sparse with little to no furniture, only hand soap in the bathroom, one very small and very old used bar of soap in shower, no drinking water in room, no toiletries, no fridge, no tea/coffee making facilities, no mosquito/insect deterrent just a bed and towels. Room was clean but rubbish not cleared from bathroom bin on arrival. These basic small amenities are standard especially at this price of $132 a night. Even if you had your own drink/food supplies, there was nowhere to use/store them. No beach within walking distance. Payment was to be made at the hotel and they in fact only accepted cash. This was really inconvenient and not clear when making reservation on bkg.com. It was only stated after confirmation email was received. This should have been made clear by bkg.com at the point of making the reservation so that you can make an informed decision to proceed. I would not. All in all sadly overpriced, Having read such good reviews before booking, I was surprised and greatly disappointed.
Hotel owners were pleasant and friendly
