Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaHad the greatest stay at Chelito’s backpackers. Beautiful husband and wife running, super sweet Downton location near the San Pedro station and market/ in the not so touristy part of town. Loved it and would stay again. Especially in top room with views of street. Helpful kind couple. Cute courtyard to sit in.

AustraliaWe stayed in a double room with shared bathroom the first time and a double room with private bathroom when we returned and the room with the private bathroom was more comfortable and warmer than the rooms with the shared bathroom.
Quiet location, the owners are so so lovely!! Even though we don’t speak Spanish we still found a way to communicate and laugh with each other. Facilities are clean with hot showers. We left our stuff here for 1 week while we were hiking, they keep it safe and locked away. They have the cutest dog and a kitten, I loved playing with them.

New ZealandThe showers are very basic. Nowhere to put your soap, towel, or clothes. There is only one toilet. As per other reviews, there isn't always toilet paper. What really annoyed me was the fact that there is no hand washing soap in the toilet.
A place with a family, friendly feeling. My room was nice and quiet.

AustraliaEverything was great
The hostal is in a lovely quiet area still close to the city centre. It is clean and well equipped with everything you need. The owners Ita and her husband are lovely and accomodating, they helped us with recommendations of things to do in Cusco and even let us store our luggage and also check in late when we got back to Cusco very late after doing the Salkantay trek.

BelgiumThe showers were doing their best (lukewarm at best) and the Wi-Fi in the rooms liked to play hide and seek, but hang out in the common area and you’re golden. Would stay again just for the cat cuddles and the feeling of home. And yes, I miss the cat already.
This place is the perfect stay in Cusco if you’re looking for comfort, character, and a cat with zero boundaries. It’s super affordable, and the owners are so lovely that walking in kind of felt like returning to your parents’ house, if your parents lived in the middle of Cusco’s old town and didn’t judge your travel laundry situation. The location is unbeatable, right in the historical centre, close to all the touristy things you think you’ll do, and safe enough that your only real concern is how many alpaca sweaters you’re going to end up with. The highlight? A chonky little cat that will 100% steal your heart (and maybe your food). It sat on my lap like we’d known each other for years, and honestly, I haven’t felt that emotionally supported since leaving home.

United KingdomOn our last day, unfortunately the water was cut off so we were unable to shower that day. This was something out of their control though.
The location is a short walk into the centre. The property is quiet and peaceful. The room had everything we needed; comfy bed, warm blankets, lamp etc. We rented towels from them. The shower and toilets are communal but kept clean. The man and woman running this are so kind and helpful. They let us check in let and store our baggage whilst we went on the Salkantay trek. The price is really good value considering all of the above.

United StatesAn amazing place...simple, quiet, tranquilo. It's on a quiet side street, a 5 minute walk to San Pedro market and 15 minutes to Plaza De Las Armas. The hosts, Yta and her husband, are fantastic...super friendly, always ready and happy to help with anything they can: tours, travel advice on local sites, doctor visits, etc., whatever you need, above and beyond the call of duty. Yta is one of the kindest, warmest hearted people you will ever meet, a delightful loving person. They don't speak English but that's easily worked around with Google Translate. Has a small kitchen and a large eating room. I loved it here, in Cusco and at Chelitos Backpacker, and stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks. Highly recommended!❤️
