Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandWe stayed here over multiple bookings between hiking. Rooms were clean and spacious. One room near the roadside was loud but another at the back of the building was very quiet. Breakfast was simple with bread and eggs or cereal. They offer bag storage for 5soles per item per night.

United StatesNot a super friendly hostel, more kind of a quiet vibe, staff is reserved, gets the job done.
Nice couches in the hang out areas, clean bathroom, basic but good value for the price. I stayed in a private room. Quiet hostel out of the way of things in an area i liked.

SpainWith the private rooms it’s a bit of a lottery what you get - some are brand new and very big with great WiFi, but we also got a less spacious room with pretty bad WiFi another time we stayed. I’d say it’s worth adding separate categories when booking so you know what you get
We love this hostel and stayed three separate times. Very good value for money and the private rooms are awesome - spacious, some recently refurbished, modern bathroom etc. Great location in San Blas and generally just a great price for what you get, especially compared to other options in the area

NetherlandsThe breakfast was not so much and also it was a bit confusing (we felt like the staff ignored us when we asked for things, but we also don't speak a lot of spanish). They were baking eggs for us, but we had to do our dishes ourselves. And there was granola but I'm not sure if there was yogurt or something that we could take from the fridge.
The bed was really nice, we slept really well. The location is good, close to many main attractions and nice restaurants. We did laundry here which was quick and reasonably priced (8 soles per kg)

United KingdomThe only issue we had was the first time we stayed a staff took my passport to scan and forgot to give it back, when we realised a few days later they had it stored in the front desk drawer but had not bothered to tell me. I think maybe they should be more careful with passports and communications.
We stayed here a few times during our time in Peru and it was a good reliable choice. The breakfast is nice and the kitchen facilities are available for the evening as well. We had a few different rooms, some better than others but all were ok. The location is nice, it's in central Cusco but a quiet location and no big hills to walk to reach it! It's a quiet hostel without much social atmosphere but was good for us as a couple. I would recommend it and would stay again.

Netherlands-
We returned here a couple of times during our holiday. We had 3 different private rooms and they were all really good (room number 3, 4, 6). The hostel is very clean and breakfast is basic but good. The hostel is at the end of a dead end road so it's very quiet. If you have a trauma from the traffic in Lima or Arequipa, this is the place to finally get some rest ;)

PortugalThe common spaces were not incredible, there was a couch area but it was quite dirty. One night we had two girls watching a movie there late at night with a really high volume and there was no remark made from the staff for them to lower the volume so that other guests could sleep. Even the staff would be listening to things out loud (sometimes more than one thing at the same time) making it a bit distressing to be in the common areas or even the room (where you could still hear it). They also tried to charge us the commission they’re supposed to pay to Booking but then accepted to charge us only what we were actually supposed to pay. Just keep an eye out for that and always check before paying. It has some inconveniences that could happen but overall is a nice option in Cusco.
The location was nice, it was super easy to reach the centre on foot. The room was big with plenty of space to put our things and they had a heater in the room that we could use (it was an old one, but worked). The kitchen tools were in nice shape.

United KingdomA bit chilly throughout the hostel, but at least the bed had plenty of covers
The 4 bed dorm was clean and quite spacious with an en-suite. The shower was the best I've had all trip - hot and strong. The included breakfast was a bit minimalist, but with fresh made eggs to order.
