How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHospedaje K'uchuwasi is run by an extremely kind family. The beds are so comfortable, there was solid hot water, great wifi, and everything was very clean. It's off the center of town, so it is quiet but still a comfortable walking distance to town (like 5 minutes, super close). The breakfast was great and the juice was squeezed fresh. The property itself is gorgeous. Personally, one my favorite parts were the animals on property. They have guinea pigs on the other end of the property away from the rooms that you can feed. They also have two lovely cats and a dog. If you're allergic or afraid of animals, I wouldn't worry either, you won't spot them unless you seek them, which I frequently did. Honestly, to me, this place was perfect and had we been staying in Peru longer, we would have easily extended our stay. This was literally my favorite place of stay during our travels in Peru.

Verified reviewRustic property almost like a home stay. The owners are the kindest people and were so accommodating when we booked last minute The space is a little tight so that you can hear neighbors, roosters. Nice breakfast served in the outdoor terrace.
A little jumbled and rustic.

Verified reviewCosy hotel and cosy room in the old town. Super friendly and helpful owners. Good breakfast and very good lunch and dinner in the garden; full of flowers. Comfortable room; thanks to wooden floor and rugs not so cold at night.

Verified reviewVery very close to the city centre, this is such a beautiful home stay, run by a couple. The stay was very close to all the hiking spots in Ollantaytambo. The breakfast was delicious especially the banana pancake.
The room was small.

Verified reviewThe family who run this hotel are very friendly. Note, they do not speak English so study your Spanish! The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed it on their beautiful outdoor terrace. The price is very affordable.
This B&B is significantly more rustic than I was expecting. It's basically a cabin. No heat and a rustic bathroom. One of our beds was dirty.

Verified reviewThe property is tucked away in one of the beautiful cobbled lanes and has a gorgeously lush garden with hummingbirds, where we had a lovely breakfast with freshly made fried eggs. The coffee is great too.
Our room was on the ground floor and it was very dark and small. The bathroom was tiny and there is no ventilation. The rooms upstairs are much nicer and lighter.

Verified reviewGreat location, hosts were very cute and friendly, breakfast wad great including the best hostel coffee I have had in Peru. Comfortable beds, would recommend.
Not much too improve, maybe wear earplugs and a mask if you don’t want the roof window and rooster to wake you up at six!

Verified reviewDon Andres and his wife were very kind to us. What touched us deeply was his (1) generosity to allow us to stay in a better room after we could not come the first night due to our altitude sickness in Cusco, and (2) willingness to lead us toward the train station the early morning when we left Ollantaytambo.
None.

Verified reviewLovely friendly family running this slightly rambling but totally charming hospedaje. The breakfast food is all locally produced or from the property. The Casa de Cuys is worth a visit itself! And the location with mountain views, cobbled streets and their garden are fantastic. Hot water showers, wifi and not expensive. Perfect backpacker hotel.
Room 3 could do with a sewer pipe vent extension and a u-bend on the shower :-)

Verified reviewThe hotel is runned by a very sweet family. We could store our big bags with them when we got to machu picchu, because you cant take big bags on the train. Also they do give a nice and fresh breakfast and there is a beautiful garden where the guests can sit and eat. The beds are small but comfy
The rooms are really small, the bathroom had open connection with the rest of the room, so there is no privacy. For us as a couple not a big issue. The rooms are really noisy so we woke of the people above us walking and talking. Overall a nice place to stay but a bit pricy for what you get, but cheap in comparison to aguas calientes.
