How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSuch a friendly welcome. The room was perfect, very big, and we had room to organize our stuff. The shower was also hot, which was a nice surprise. It was also warm in the room even if it was wintertime. Breakfast with a view was good.

Verified reviewThe owner is a very nice person, very responsive. Breakfast area had excellent view. Rooms are different. First room we stayed in was very good with incredible view. The second one had no windows ( window was facing staircase).
Main complain and the reason I gave it not so good review was water problem. We booked room for 3 nights. 2 nights we had no water. And I am not talking about shower which as the owner explained to us could only be used 5am to 11am as per city restrictions. No water means you can't even flush the toilet. The owner gave us big water bottle for the toilet and wash our hands. I think this is specific to this area or house, I don't know. We asked people from other hotels in the city if they had water problems at the same time we did and they did not have any problems. We stayed in other hotel for 2 nights after our trek and we had water all the time. Also breakfast was very basic. 2 buns + 1 thin slice of cheese and ham + jam + glass of juice + coffee We booked this place for 3 nights before the trekking and 2 nights after. But the water issues made us cancel additional nights and book other hotel where we had no water problems and the breakfast was excellent.

The staff were kind and kept our bags for the day before our night bus. The shower is hot in the mornings. Everything was easy. We would stay here again. Thank you.

Verified reviewThe view from the breakfast area and outdoor roof area was amazing! You can see the whole valley. The walk to and from the Plaza de Arms was a short 10 - 12 mins. The roads and walk itself is a cultural experience not to be missed!! The hotel is up the hill (hence the great views) so you'll need to take your time on the way home due to the city's elevation (easy to do b/c there's lots to see and discover on the way). For the experience, it is totally worth it! I never felt unsafe walking back alone regardless of the time. Marta and staff were absolutely wonderful! Super polite, welcoming, and helpful. If you don't speak Spanish they will work with you through Google translate. Super easy. My room and bathroom were serviced daily and the shower was hot! (Pay attention when they explain how the hot water works.) Breakfast was a couple of rolls, butter, jam, fresh juice, a slice of meat and cheese, and coffee or tea. Coca tea and hot water are available 24/7 in the breakfast area as well as filtered water. Please note that most places in Cusco do not have heating. Keep that in mind when you are booking anything at certain times of year. They tend to have lots of amazing blankets but no heat (just like most of Europe does not have A/C). The weather did dip at night while I was there but I politely asked if there was a portable heater available and Marta was able to bring one up for me. Was perfect. Skip the overpriced places in the city center! I had the 3 bed room and would without a doubt stay here again!

Verified reviewLocation and views were excellent. Host was very nice and accomadating as well.
There were issues with hot water and water pressure but I belive that was an issue with the entire neighborhood not just our place.

Ran out of water during late night and early morning. Apparently an issue all over Peru. Happened the same in Lima.
