Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We stayed in two different rooms (before and after salkantay trek). Our first room was in 107 (next to the travel agency) and was very humid, smelled and there was no window. We asked for another room after salkantay and that room was perfect! Clean, not smelly and could ventilate.
We had a great stay in this hotel! People from reception are so friendly and it’s close to the center.

Beautiful property with very helpful and friendly staff - especially Elvira and Liz!!! They were so helpful. The beds are comfy and clean and the bathrooms were spotless! We would really recommend this hostel!

Perfect stay, best hostel in Cusco by far. Location is perfect with it being real close to the square and centre of Cusco, real good and helpful tourist info and booking desk inside the hostel 7 days a week with stuff to do everyday. Staff were also brilliant especially Diana & Liz - 10/10 would recommend!

The box lunch could be a bit better but that is personal preference.
This was my third time staying at a hostel and the experience was so nice that i decided to extend my stay here instead of going to a different hotel. Hadelly, Jared, Diana, Liz and Ever were the absolute best. Always make sure i was ok and being helpful when needed. The room was huge, with a super comfy bed, clean huge shower with hot water. Truly amazing, especially for a girl traveling solo. Usually the bathroom at hostels are kind of funky but not this one.

In our first stay we had a room closer to the patio which was very quiet and we could sleep well. But this time we were in front of the reception and you could hear every one leaving the hostel at different hours and also the door bell rings all night long. We stayed one night at this room so that was lucky but for the amount of money I would have asked to be relocated. Also something I don’t like it’s the towel situation, it is a fair price you pay , I would expect them to give you towels.
It is a great place to stay , it’s very lively and the location is amazing

Liked the atmosphere of the place, very friendly staff, particularly Elvira, Hade & Meli who were exceptionally helpful when it came to answering any questions, laundry services, and check out. Definitely recommend.

Well located, comfortable delux bed in dorm of 4 with ensuite bathroom. Nice common areas and vibe. Helpful staff/team - special shout out to the reception team Lizbeth, Elvira and Hade, thanks for your help with my super late check-in in the middle of the night and helping store my bags for the day.

Only two little things- the room was very cold and we had to go and specifically ask for heating (that helped a bit), maybe during this season it should be a given… and maybe the lights in the room that were all white and too bright.
Wonderful hostel, very positive young atmosphere and welcoming helpful staff. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and everything was clean and beautiful. The main thing is ofcourse the common area, the loby and the bar that offer drinks, games and food. Breakfast was amazing! There’s an inside travel agency, (quite pricey in comparison to others) laundry services, free luggage room and everyone is extremely helpful and kind.

Nothing - it was brilliant!
I’ve travelled to many places in the world and stayed at lots of different hostels/hotels and Viajero Cusco Hostel is by far one of the best places I’ve stayed. The staff were amazing, the food at the restaurant was delicious, there are great activities to participate in throughout the day. The whole place is just such a vibe. Amazing location - right in the heart of it. I felt so safe at this hostel as a female traveller and would definitely recommend it.
