Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe property is beautiful and so close to the entrance of Machu Picchu! Beautiful grounds with waterfalls and little hidden meditation and yoga areas. The restaurant was outstanding and the staff was so kind and friendly. Just wonderful!!

United StatesI think it is overpriced based on what they offer.
Rooms were very nice facing the mountains and the food deserves a Michelin recognition.

Hong KongFood: Hamburger and club sandwich from room service excellent! Quality and variety of buffet in coffee shop very mediocre and uninspiring…bordering on bad cafeteria standards…! 😰 Food quality in main dining room good, 👍🏻👌🏻💪🏻 but not in line with the exuberant cost of accommodations per night…would have much preferred paying a la carte for food & alcoholic beverage with a reduced room rate…
Very attentive and helpful staff, special mention of Karen who took excellent care of our group. Fantastic location immediately outside the gates of Machu Picchu! Comfortable rooms with “private” veranda and access to garden. Fabulous natural surroundings. Delightful variety of souvenir water bottles, and welcome chocolates and thoughtful amenities such as sun screen and mosquito repellant!

United StatesOur room was smaller than I expected. We had the Standard King Patio Room. Glad to have the patio. I had read about smallish room sizes from other reviews. So not totally unexpected…
Quiet. Clean. Lovely garden area. Proximity to Citadel entrance. Excellent food. Attentive, responsive, friendly staff, without exception, starting from time of reservation and ending with luggage assistance at Aguas Calientes train station.

AustraliaI only stayed one night:… if I did it again I would ask if I could save the lunch for the second day (as it was I had a big lunch and big dinner on the same day…) - just a detail though .
The location was just great… truly a sanctuary after exiting the park. The staff were delightful, special mention to Russell in the dining room and Jhun who met me off the train. I was given an upgrade to the most amazing suite… and there was even a shower room for after I had checked out so I could refresh after walking. Overall I had a blast.

BrazilNothing.
Unique hotel in front of the park entrance. The staff and the service are great. We received so many small gifts during the stay like: rain coats, water containers, unlimited free mini bar and room service, chocolates, etc… plus, dinner and lunch were included in the room price (full board). The room is rather small, but has all the luxury items! The hotel gives you access to the Hiram Bingham lounge at the águas calientes train station which is a huge plus (the station is super crowded), even if you are taking another train like vista dome. Plus, they will take care of your luggages from the hotel to the lounge.

BrazilThere is really nothing bad to say about this place, except, of course, the price of stayung there.
The place is amazing. Every detail brings you a new sensation. I have never stayed in a hotel of this level (and I’ve stayed in some great hotels), so it’s all about wanting to spend what they charge. Every attendant makes all the difference (Kevi, Manuel, Aldana, Alex and John were special, but honestly the whole crew is really good).

United StatesThere wasn't anything I didn't like, except the price, but it's a luxary hotel right next to an amazing archeological site, so to be expected.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Sanctuary Lodge! The place is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were delicious, and being steps away from Machu Picchu was magical. It was very expensive, but it was worth the splurge. It was absolutly luxurious, from being met at the train in Agua Caliente and seen off there a few days later. Shout out to Jorge, Eddie, Sebastian, and all the other staff at the Sanctuary Lodge. They were exceptional.

Hong KongWe were very happy during our entire stay.
One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. We were provided not only a comfortable room at such an excellent location but also yummy meals throughout the day, ample snacks and skin care amenities as well as useful tools such as water bottles and raincoats for our hiking at Macchu Picchu. I'm also happy to see that the hotel is dedicated to providing environmentally friendly products in the room. The staff were super helpful. Was impressed by their staffer John's warm and genuine service from the time we got off the train at the Macchu Picchu Station.
