How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I waited nearly 2 hours to finally realice i just had to knock the door of the nearby agency, which at the same time was the hostel. I was confused of what the staff said, since they said would be in 330 A and not 330. Why didn’t they came out to tell me that they are nearby. (I wrote them to be standing next 330!) That’s the only thing ;)

Shower water could be hotter, it only gets to lukewarm.

There was ok for the price and the service.
I like the kitchen and the space they have on the top, it has nice view, and everyone there were so friendly.

The common room was in the basement with no natural light.
Staff was nice and helpful, also the view from the common area is great!

Great location, place was clean, beds were comfortable and wifi worked well. Staff are friendly, other residents was friendly and calm. It has a terrace with a kitchen and a common room and there are hot showers.

The wifi in our room was weak.

It says tea and coffee are available but there was none.
Really good budget hostel. Provides tours which are handy and free luggage storage after check out.

it seems like the neighbourhood garbage gets piled on the sidewalk across the street-not the best view from the rooms facing forward.
We chose to stay here because we were using Marvelous Peru as our trekking company the following day. It worked to our advantage being able to ask questions and pack at the same time. The location was about a 10min walk near the town square. Loved the rooftop patio-and second staircase led up to a second patio where you can hang up your clothes to dry.

Our double room was by the stairs and main road so it was noisy
The upper terrace common area with a great view of Cusco! Closeness to the historic center.

It's absolutely freezing at nights. But I think that's the Peruvian standards. No heat in houses.
Can't go wrong with the single room with the private toilet and shower cabin. On the top beautiful scenery for the whole town.

We were put into the wrong room twice and had to ask for a discount as they wouldn’t put us in the one we originally booked. No hot water even at 7pm at night and on the last night our room had no water at all. There’s no atmosphere here but it seems the people who live there who were up partying until almost 1am every night and you can hear everything that goes on in the halls. The staff were rude and we had to complain multiple times everyday and demand a discount for our stay. The location isn’t very good you’re worth spending a bit more to stay somewhere else

The toilet in our room didn’t have a seat. The ceiling in bathroom was covered with black mold. You have to ask for towels and toilet paper, they don’t just give it to you. The kitchen was poorly equipped and the fridge very dirty. When I asked for cleaning, the lady was surprised and didn’t do anything about it. The bed was very used and grooved, so my back hurt after 3 night.
The place is good enough if you’re looking for low cost option and just staying there just for night between other adventures. The room was spacious and clean. The terrace is fine to eat or have a workout.

no hot water no working wifi no breakfast staff kept knocking on the door every hour the morning i checked in at 7am...booked for two nights the night before... traffic is so loud outside.. lots of honking starts at 5am .windows are not sealed so they might as well be open

Quite basic on all fronts. Couldn’t pay by card even though it’s advertised. Also no change for cash payment when I was there
