One of the reasons I picked the hotel because it said it was heated and Cusco is cold at night. There definitely was not heat and my room was cold all the time. It was colder than outside. They did give me extra blankets so I was fine at night, but could not spend time in the room otherwise.

The room was really cold. When I arrived (end of April) I was asked if I needed an extra blanket, I didn't realise the purpose of this until the following day. There is no air-conditioning (at least i could see or control) it's just chilly. I don't mind this over night as I like a cold room to sleep in but to hang out, watching TV etc or wash I found it colder than I would like.

The room was really comfy. had everything I needed. The staff on reception were really helpful.

Rooms are shabby and needing revitalization. The spirit of the place is a downer. Some staff are not very attentive or responsive. Breakfast was terrible.

I upgraded to a large king room with a balcony and terrace with amazing views of the city and mountains. The building itself is a beautiful old palazzo. Location is excellent, between the main plaza and San Blas. It was OK for a night.

The rooms face into the lobby area and it can be noisy at night with people’ conversation. A little more variety at breakfast would be welcomed.

The hotel is comfortable and well located. Great shower and comfortable bed - nothing fancy. Josep and Millie at reception were extremely helpful and welcoming. The price is right!

My room was next to reception and as it’s an old building I could hear everything which disturbed my sleep. There was also never anyone at reception you had to shout for them. Check out at 9am is very early too.

Great location and very good value for money. Nice rooms with a TV and a little balcony which was lovely. Staff was pleasant although often absent.

The Hotel is very close to the plaza de armas cusco square. its easy to explore the cusco town and the hotel is amazing to stay. joseph was warm and welcoming in the reception and so helping. i really recommend this hotel for others to stay

brilliant location. friendly staff. we stayed in 3 different areas in Cusco and this was by far the best.

- Sometimes there was no hot water when taking a shower - Bathroom wasn't thoroughly cleaned from the previous guests - Toilet is weak and flushes really slow. Had to flush multiple times to get rid of waste - Front entrance doors closes at 10:00pm. Had to buzz for someone to unlock it

- Near the city centre with many restaurants, stores, and shops - Comfortable king-sized bed - Strong wifi connection - Spacious double room - Breakfast included although some food items weren't made on some days - Helpful staff even though they don't speak English

The room wasn't cleaned every day and sometimes we had to go down to reception to get towels, toilet paper and bags for rubbish bins. The bathroom wasn't cleaned either and the hotel in general a bit rundown. Although an old building with a lot of charm, it needs to be modernised. Evenings can be cold and It wasn't until third night that we got a plugin heater.

We stayed in the Montecristo Hotel for seven nights and it was a great base to do all our day trips.Andrés in reception was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was usually copious with Rosa Maria , the cook, very attentive. Our room was spacious.Quite central location with easy access to centre of city. Reasonably priced.
