How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The windows in our room does not lock so easily or not at all so someone from the outside can open it. The window in our bathroom did not lock at all so that was a problem.
This was a great value and great area to stay. We thought that the part music was going to be a problem but not many people were there so we did not find the music to be a problem. During busy times I can see music being a problem. The breakfast was okay (simple) but lunch there is great. The cheapest food you will find for the quantity and quality take advantage of paying for lunch there. Staff was great and helpful.

The room felt quite damp. A lot of our stuff got a bit moist. It's a bit run down and dusty and could do with some love. TV didn't always work. Seemed like an internet issue but didn't seem to impact our phones.
Really nice staff and great location. The deluxe double room is massive and the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast was simple but nice and the bar was nice too.

The room is very damp and the toilet was clogged up.
Nice hostel with rooftop bar and a bar downstairs. Breakfast was simple but good.

The room was filthy. Mold everywhere. The room smells like humidity. Dirty floors, dust on every furniture, on the tv. The toilet wasnt clean at all. It was super dirty. The breakfast was horrible. Hard bread and horrible coffee. For that price you can find way better places in Miraflores.

The room was incredibly damp and there was mould on the walls, ceiling and door. There were no windows to air the room which I believe is the reason for the problem. I overheard a staff member saying to what seemed like a workman that "they had painted over it" but of course this won't fix the problem. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building's layout, I don't know if it can be fixed... I had to ask for toilet roll for the bathroom on multiple occasions as they don't leave spare rolls. I know the cleaners did their best to clean as I saw them doing so every day but again, due to the nature of the building and the fact that everything is tired, it always felt a bit dirty. It is a shame that the terrace isn't used as a bar but I assume this is because it is their winter.
The staff were lovely, bar/kitchen/cleaner and reception staff and the matress was very comfy.

It's super dirty, mouldy, old, the shared bathrooms are disgusting, constantly needing to ask for more toilet paper,it was definitely not cleaned everyday. Doesn't have a blow drier, not even to borrow
The location is great and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Here is the English translation of your message: ⸻ I stayed for four nights, but for three of those nights I couldn’t take a proper shower because the hot water was extremely weak and the water often got cut off. One night, the entire hostel had no water at all, so I couldn’t shower. The next morning, when water finally came back, I tried to take a quick hot shower — but in the middle of it, the water suddenly stopped again because the hostel had started repairing the water heater, without giving any notice. I had no choice but to rinse off the soap on my body with bottled water. Many of the room windows were broken — either the locks didn’t work or the glass was shattered. It would be easy for someone to break in, so we felt unsafe both while sleeping and whenever we left the room. The hostel is designed with an open central courtyard that acts as a common area, and the dining space is on the rooftop. Because there’s no roof, you can still hear music and conversations at night. Combined with the broken windows, the soundproofing is extremely poor. For the same price, you can definitely find better options in Lima.

The room smelled bad. There was never soap in the bathroom of the room. The bed was bad. There was no key to the room, anyone could enter.

the humidity of the city
An excellent option if you want to socialize and party safely. Breakfast is decent, and the restaurant offers good food, although it could use longer hours. The building is old, so there's not much room for improvement, but that gives the hostel and its occupants a special energy.
