How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed here for 8 days, and really enjoyed it! The hosts are kind, and always available (including for early morning or evening tours). They helped us navigate around Cusco, and were patient with our limited Spanish! Location is superb - plenty of cafes, boutique clothes, pharmacies, restaurants and (my fav) health food store La Tortuguita nearby. Location up the hill from Plaza de Armas (but not too far for those suffering from altitude). Rooms are clean, with a private bathroom, desk and spaces to hang clothes. Breakfast is fresh orange juice, egg (or avocado for vegans), bread, coffee & tea. Minimarket downstairs for water, beers, shampoo, toothbrushes, ponchos. Also laundry service.

Verified reviewVery nice 3 star accommodation. Staff was very friendly and attentive to all of our demands. Walking distance to downtown and restaurants.
No amenities like a hair dryer. Breakfast was the same every day. Heater in our room was broken.

Verified reviewThe property was clean and aesthetically pleasant in a good location.
The staff seemed the be uncomfortable about me and my husband staying in a matrimonial suite, I guess they are not used to gay couples.

There were no windows in our room.

Verified reviewThe location is great, although it's in a one-way street and often difficult to get by car from the main street. I had no problem walking everywhere from the hotel. A 15 min walk to the Plaza de Armas and a short walk to restaurants nearby in San Blas. The staff is polite.
My stay was unpleasant and I would not recommend this hotel. Here’s why: Airport Pick-Up: Despite confirming an airport pick-up, no one was waiting for me. After calling the hotel, I was told the driver had a sign with the wrong name. I received a brief apology from Marylu. Room Readiness: Upon arrival at 10:30 am, my room wasn't ready. I had to wait 20 minutes for another room. Hot Water Issues: The hot water in my room lasted only 5 minutes before turning cold. I had to stop my shower twice to call for help. Despite attempts to fix it, the problem persisted, leading to a room change. Breakfast Problems: I requested vegan options in my reservation, but Mr. Vicente was unaware of this. I had limited breakfast choices and was promised avocado (which I had on 2 occasions) but was told they forgot to buy more. Fruit and vegetables would have been nice to have. Cleanliness: My new room had hairs on the shower floor, a woman’s underwear on the floor, and a leaking toilet. The issues were fixed promptly but without apology. Cold Rooms: I had to request a heater because the room was too cold at night. This should be provided as a standard amenity. Loud Noises: It's an old hotel, you can hear everything. But the main issue was one night when another guest arrived late at night and there was no one to check him in. He rang the bell persistently until someone opened the door. He was clearly upset, yelling, and surprised that this happened. The only explanation they gave him was that they felt asleep. This woke me up at almost midnight. Despite all of these issues, I never received an apology or a way to rectify the situation. While the staff is polite, they seem unprepared to handle basic hotel needs, like providing a clean room and hot water. I picked this hotel because of the location and lower price, but it was definitely not worth it.

Verified reviewI enjoyed my stay here. If you're looking for a decent place with private bathroom you can stay here. Mrs Marilou made Coca tea on my arrival and accomodate me well. The hotel is rustic , clean and nice. I was away on tours all day and only came to sleep at night so it was perfect. Its 5 minutes walk to Plaza de Armas. WiFi works.Have some grocery stores around and restaurants. Mrs Marilou booked me a last minute taxi as well. Overall I was pleased with this hotel.
No heat but bearable.

Verified reviewBreakfast was adequate, but somewhat limited. I was not expecting much based on the low price I paid, so overall satisfactory. The room was fine, though again not fancy. Bathroom was rather small, but ok.
The room was effectively only half a floor up from the alley, as it rose going eastwards. There was some loud talking by passers by (there being a festival in Cusco that night 30-May), so that was a little disturbing. That and a large spider got in; Probably need to install a screen mesh on the window to prevent insects entering.

Verified reviewThis little hotel is close to the Plaza de Armas. It is in a quiet neighborhood with a number of small restaurants and shops. It is also quite cheap. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is always hot water in the shower and you can also have a space heater for your room.
It could benefit for a coat of paint and new floor coverings.

Verified reviewheater which gave warm cozy glow. bed, sheets very cozy and comfortable.. attractive old world decor, tiles, wood , cushions, plants. hot shower. kind hosts. bottled water. front desk assistance.
no table lamps by bed. no rugs. VERY COLD. chemical used to clean will disturb chemically- sensitive folks. due to inner open courtyard onto which all rooms give, you can hear sounds very easily , so , if you're sensitive to noise, it could be uncomfortable at times. but it is quiet at night for sleeping. breakfast is early though, so you'll hear sounds early making it hard to sleep late, at least for me.

Verified reviewThe staff was so lovely and helped us to find some very good and cheap tours in Cusco and the surrounding area. The room and the whole hotel fit perfectly into the beautiful district. If we had any questions about the city, tours or we needed something, we always got a answer and help. We had always warm water and enough thick blankets in the beds. The breakfast: fresh juice, bread, avocado, eggs = delicious and enough!
