Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

On the ground floor is a smoke area, it should be really good if smoke was not allowed in the hotel or common areas.
The room was clean, and the bathroom was with heat water. Breakfast was not included but you can cook some meals.

They tried to charge us extra by adding their booking.com commission to the price. We refused to pay it. Lots of mould on the bathroom ceiling

I didn’t know they cut the water between 9pm-4am! I understand why to save water but maybe could be better advertised!
Lovely quiet atmosphere. Great value for money. Excellent staff service, I was hit with altitude sickness and they let me stay past normal check out time and brought me up some tea. Left the hotel feeling a lot better and they called me a taxi to take me to the airport.

Yequelin is very friendly and helpful host. I felt like she went above and beyond to ensure our stay in Cusco region was safe and enjoyable. He service started before we even landed at Cusco airport by arranging for our pickup where a driver with name display was waiting for us as we arrived. Check-in was a breeze. We hadn't done much homework as for our planning the activities other than tickets to Machu Pichu but Yequelin helped plan and make bookings for our activities such as rather than going straight to Ollayntaytambo, she suggested we take a guided tour which was very cheap that will take us through the Sacred Valley visiting several sites and dropping us at our hotel in Ollay, that was a great recommendation. Upon return, she arranged for us Cuscu city tour and Humantay lake day tour which were all amazing. I highly recommend Puma Walker!

A booked this last minute and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved the early check-in hours. They allowed me to keep my luggage behind after check-out. I had a few hours before having to make my way to the airport.

The bathroom had issues with the how water… 🥶 2 times the hot water stopped and had to finish with cold water! Taking a shower at 23:00 pm without hot water is the worst experience you can have.
The dry cleaning service, and location.

The room could be a little bit dark and noisy but it wasn't an issue for us.
We really liked this hostel! The staff was very friendly and helpful from the beginning. We booked 2 nights but then we stayed a whole week. The room is very comfortable and clean, the shower is perfect. There is kitchen as well that you can use and they have a laundry service for a good price.

We booked two nights and they asked us to move rooms for the second night. It’s annoying having to move but we were grateful after spending the first night in a room right next to the kitchen (first floor) where you could hear a lot of noises and people walking upstairs.

The best hospitality and service in cusco!! The manager and receptionist were extremely nice and helpful! They fulfilled everything we asked for and the staying really went above our expectations! The rooms were comfortable and clean, there was hot water all day long and great breakfast. Highly recommend!!
