How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewKevin at the front desk was very helpful with the payment for taxis. Very nice breakfast with variety of foods. Coca leaves to make hot tea. The hotel is across the street from a large market and a block away from the supermarket. Well equipped kitchen. We were able to leave luggage that we didn't want to take to Aguas Caliente.

Verified reviewVery helpful staff. Kevin at the front desk asked us when we checked-in how we were. We had never been at such a high altitude before so didn't know if we would get altitude sickness and it was nice to be asked how we were doing. There are coca leaves in the breakfast room to make tea. The breakfast was really nice with lot's of fresh fruit, cooked eggs. toast etc. The best during our 14 day stay in Peru. We were able to leave some luggage at the hotel to collect when we returned from Machu Picchu and spent another night here.
The hotel's a 20 minute walk to the bus station to catch the train to Aguas Caliente.

Verified reviewDo not get misled by the pics. First of all, they could not trace my reservation even after nearly 20/25 minutes on their own computer, when we reached there around 9 pm. I showed him booking com reservation message on my cell with booking number, still not ready to accept. Then they said room is not cleaned and will require about 25 minutes to clean it. Since then my wife had doubts about the ability of this facility, we asked him to show the room. The room were stinking of booze and vomit, the bathrooms stinking of shit. Had called booking Com customer care number twice to ask them to resolve, but their recorded message said will be attended in max 30 minutes, imagine international calling, and, being put on hold for 30 minutes. Ultimately, we fled after booking another facility. I have asked the provider to demand compensation from the facility, let's see, as yet to get a reply.

Verified reviewI liked the room, it was basic but clean with heating and hot water.
When paying by card, the receptionist said there was a 5% extra charge, but he charged 10 %! I only noticed this later. He also overcharged for the bottled water. The place offered oxygen, and he confirmed that they had it, but when I was feeling terrible at night and we went to fetch it, he could not make it work and eventually said that he would get some in the morning. By that time, I did not need it. I asked for a quiet room, but could hardly get any sleep at night as there was a constant and continuous car horn tooting.

Verified reviewGreat option if you are looking for a budget option in prime location in Cusco.
Only complaint is that the hotel is charging 5% extra if you are paying by card.

Verified reviewThe room was very clean, the shower was hot and the room too as there was electrical heating and double blankets. We felt safe in the area and to let our stuff in the hotel. The breakfast is a very nice buffet and when we had to leave early for day trips, they prepared us a correct breakfast box to go.
Our room was located on the ground floor and very early in the morning we could hear the people leaving for day trips talking in the street just in front of our room. There was also a small window from our room to the hotel hall and when people switched on the light (in the middle of the night or super early in the morning), we were disturbed during our sleep. This is regrettable but overall we were very glad about our stay at Quechua hotel.

Verified reviewThe staff were really great! They let us check-in early. And the breakfast was delicious!!!! We arranged to stay another night because we had such a great sleep. And the location is amazing! Directly in the central historical centre but in a side road so its noisy! We moved rooms to an apartment upstairs for our second night and it was so beautiful!! With a kitchen area, a fridge, table chairs and a big TV with netflix all separate to the bedroom area. A great experience!

Sofa bed was not really that comfortable, but that was expected. Take note that the family room is on the 4th floor and there is no lift.
