Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesClimbing narrow stairs, although we were helped with our luggage by the staff.
The room we had was rather spacious and had a nice balcony. An easy walking distance to the train station even with luggage, although there’re no taxis in the tiny town anyways. Bus boarding line to Machu Picchu is right in front the hotel across the river, just make sure you buy the tickets ahead of time online. Nice staff at the reception

NetherlandsTakes quite some time to fill up the jacuzzi. The pineapple juice at breakfast somehow turned out to be alcoholic. Not the best pre-workout drink for climbing to Machu Picchu.
Nice rooms, loved the jacuzzi after a long trek. Breakfast was fine.

MontenegroThis is gonna be very European of me, but the lack of air conditioning is a huge deal for us, especially mid day when it gets hot. The Hot tub is huge and fantastic, but considering it was a big part of why we booked this place, it is kinda sad that there was an issue with hot water, the guy at the desk was attentive and amazing he grabbed a look, he managed to fix it by adjusting the pressure somewhere in the hotel’s tank. We filled the tub but as soon as we stopped the tap once it stopped giving hot water again. I know in Latin America it’s not common to even have hot water but with this hot tub, the hot water is a must.
The property is right by the river in the heart of the city so the balcony and window views are exceptional. Huge bed and a nice chilling area just like on the photos absolutely loved it. Felt cozy and fresh when you open up everything. Booked it honestly mostly cus of the view and the hot tub. P.S. Incredible orange juice during the included breakfast

ChileEverything. Rude staff, dodgy manager, poor facilities. Toilet was leaking, jacuzzi was not working and they didn’t have a spare key in case of lost. Also they wanted to charge me the fee from booking which is NOT my responsability and there was more people having issues as well.

CanadaThe staff, especially the woman at reception, was very rude. We had no water for two days. Every time we asked her for help, she was dismissive and rolled her eyes. Our friend booked another room for himself, but they scammed him — he paid, never received a room, and they still haven’t returned his money.

The location is great, nearby the trainstation and the bus to Machu Picchu. The staff went out of their way to give us a great experience, even preparing a breakfast including fresh juices for us to take on our trip to Machu Picchu at 5 in the morning!

AustraliaThe hotel is just not in good shape at all. And the room was worse, the bathroom was not cleaned at all there was soap scum and black mold in the grout of the shower, hair on the walls, the ceiling the paint was peeling off, Zero hygiene, the bathroom literally smelled like a public urinal. the room we stayed in 304 has two windows one looks to the hallway and the other one is a rectangular shape window that looks over a tin roof. Next to the bed was a wood door with a pad lock and from the noises i guess was another house ? Also the exhaust of the restaurant below was right next to the window and so all the food smells will come in and the noise was terrible.
Location and thats about it.

SwitzerlandRooms seem to have terrible sound isolation, both from external and internal sources. The room at the same floor as reception - you could hear non stop what is going on, which wasn’t helping at all to get decent sleep. Additionally the restroom ‘window’ is towards the reception, so an internal one. Internet connection basically did not exist, non stop lost packets or no network at all.
