Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe booked a private room with double beds and it was so cute. Split level and its own bathroom with nice hot shower. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and the breakfast options were simple but decent. This hostel is a bit more chill, theres a nice communal social space but it isnt a party vibe, which with all the trips and activities to do in cusco this was a relief as it meant a good nights sleep!

United KingdomThe only small downside was that there aren’t many bathrooms and they are very small with not much changing space unless you want to be out in the open!
Nice hostel with a very relaxed vibe. I had a private room which was nice. And the staff were great.

United KingdomThis isn’t a very social hostel, people don’t interact much. The breakfast is also a little basic.
The room I had was a mini apartment with a lovely bathroom, sofa, massive tv and very comfortable warm beds with big blankets.

FranceNothing to dislike!
The location is great, within walking distance to the main square, but smin a quiet area, off the main roads. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a very comfortable stay. This is not a party hostel, so at night everything was quiet, perfect to rest. The beds arranged as little pods are comfortable and allow for privacy.

ColombiaLoved everything.
It felt like a home, because the hostel had a lot of places where you could hang out. It was calm, which makes it a perfect place to stay it your doing hikes etc. The breakfast was included and it was good. The beds were the most comfortable beds I’ve ever had in a hostel. The location was good.

MexicoWifi doesn't reach the rooms & always failing. Infested with French people (glad didn't get the bed bugs), dont let them keep the dorm rooms closed, should let the air circulate - because the rooms smell awful with their stinky shoes & clothes
One of the top hostels, breakfast is the best. Staff are amazing, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, great amenities

CanadaI stayed for a few nights at Way Kap and then stayed an additional night when I got back from a trip. The beds were comfortable and had an extra blanket for warmth. I liked the layout of the hostel and the facilities were good. There is a desk upstairs in case you need to work like I did while I was there. Wifi was decent enough for work during the day, I found it lagged at night when the hostel got busier. Showers were hot which was incredible!

United KingdomThe windows in some of the dorms didn’t shut (were just open to the courtyard) so in the mornings it could get a little noisy but with ear plugs it was grand.
Whilst a little further out than some hostels the staff and facilities more than made up for it. Free shower gel/shampoo, tea and breakfast was fabulous and the courtyard area with video games (and space to consume free tea!) made it easy to socialise, make friends or chill. The staff were very accommodating to all requests and provided lots of advice for day trips.

United KingdomNot a social hostel
Breakfast buffet includes a lot of various foods - scrambled eggs, toast, ham, cheese, cereal, yogurts, drinks, etc. Staff is friendly and room is clean. Wifi works well and there is 24/7 free tea. The building is also very pretty and there is a kitchen available to cook your own food.

RomaniaWay Kap Hostel is a new hostel in Cusco and you can observa that easily, because everything is well maintained, clean and functioning properly. They even have a small space for digital nomads, which is very thoughtful of them. The breakfast is simply INCREDIBLE, extremely varied. Can't believe a hostel provides such a tasty breakfast for free!
