Fan just made a breeze, no mosquito nets - lake on the island means a lot of biting creatures. Be prepared. A stand up fan in each room and mosquito nets would make a huge difference

Location is amazing for the price.. staff are lovely, and food is great (portions are huge). Also there is no shared kitchen - but you can put things from the supermarket in the fridge - we did this to make packed lunches each day.

we didn't realize it was a 40 minute boat ride and the restaurant didn't open til 7:30 for dinner so we skipped as we were jet lagged and tired.

this was a last minute stay and was a nice facility. the breakfast was good

The 30 minute boat ride to and from the island was unexpected. The flies and mosquitoes are enough to drive you back into your bungalow - but even there you are not away from mosquitoes. Most meals we just OK - nothing special - but you have no choice.

The island itself is beautiful, with more coconut palm trees than I've ever seen anywhere. The bungalows are OK, and most of the staff are nice.

The bathroom mirror in our fare was recently broken but not replaced. I didn't care but some could have. Leaving the guesthouse for the main Rangiroa island can be done by boat only and there are only twice per day and if you can't make it at the time set up by the guesthouse and groups, it becomes very expensive to go with a private boat. So make sure you sync both with the owner and the tour guides so the time matches. Apart from that, I had an amazing experience and still highly recommend the trip to Aotera guesthouse.

Everything about it, the remote island is wild and gorgeous. The owner and staff are very friendly and great to hang out with. Huge portions of food (not included with room) are served and they are delicious. Waking up in front of the Rangiroa lagoon was something I will never forget. I highly recommend the Aortera Guesthouse

Bad quality wifi and problems with energy supply, power cuts, etc. Also the owner didn’t pick us up at the airport as he committed to us on message and we had to spend all the day in the main island uncommunicated and had to manage ourselves. The boat to get there was also an adventure. Apart of that, it was a nice, funny and unforgettable experience! I recommend it!

MOSQUITOES! Extremely bad! They were everywhere! Definitely not normal situation... we didn't see this on others islands of Tuaomutu. Very bad technical conditions of the cabins. For example you can not open the door smoothly... Dinners was good but we ate every day the same meal on the breakfast (2 person: 2 pieces of the bread, 2 pancakes, 2 pastery, kiri, butter, jam... NO ham, cheese, eggs, vegetable, fruit ... etc.).

The beach on the island was excellent! You can feel like on your private island. Service by the owner (pick-up from the airport, communication on booking, drop off to the airport) was really nice.

There are many mosquitos, which one should expect when living literally on the beach, however we would've wished for maybe something to repell them in the bungalow. Not a major problem though. For us this was no problem, since we have no allergies and eat everything (and the food is delicious), but if you have an allergy or dietary preference you really have to tell them in advance, since there is no selection of choices for the meals. But, for us, this was no problem. :) There was not much information provided about timings for food or anything really regarding the stay itself. This was not a big problem for us, but could be nice to feel even more welcomed upon arrival. Overall, Aotera Guesthouse is well worth a visit!

Aotera is an amazingly beautiful tiny island. The nature is amazing, the lagoon right outside the bungalow is beautiful. You have to come here while in Rangiroa! The chef on Aotera is truly great at cooking delcious meals and was super kind and gave amazing service! We were happy to stay here a couple of nights for our honeymoon. Memories for life. Got picked up at the airport and the boat shuttle went very smoothly. Staff is nice.

The only little thing was that if your flight arrives after 5 pm you have to sleep at the main island. This detail should be more explicit in the description.

Going to the Motu and the bungalow there is very very nice. It has amazing views and such peace. Also great we can use the canoes for free.

In the time we were there they were performing maintenance to the hot water system and we had only cold water in the showers. This was told to us only upon arrival and no alternative nor some discount was offered. It didn't bother us much but we would have appreciated to be given some heads-up.

The location is at 30 min by boat from the port of rangiroa ( you get a pick up from the airport). We had a lake view bungalow ( was chosen on purpose by us) and the view was beautiful. We were welcomed and lead to our bungalow upon arrival . The bungalow is newly build and clean. Wifi worked very good inside and on the terrace. The location is silent, remote and perfect. They have a restaurant and you can serve dinner and breakfast there____. DELiCiOUS! !

Disgusting dirty room, staff serving food with cigarets in their mouth, unprofessionalism of the owner who is taking advantage of staff and guests. Not worth staying there.

The food was horrible and expensive (burnt croissants for 10 dollars), the staff was incredibly inefficient (a polite way to say simply lazy) and didn’t speak English. The bungalow was not deluxe in the slightest. It smelled (they seem to have a sewage problem) and it did not have cold nor “sweet” water (the water was salty, it came from the sea, so not potable and nope, you couldn’t get the salt off you). We booked a beach view bungalow, however the window door was so dirty that we couldn’t see the beach!

The only good thing about this property is the location. It’s almost a whole motu where there’s no one else, the beach is gorgeous and virgin (all the shells are living shells!)

Everything was perfect! Location is beautiful, host and the team are friendly. You feel like on the private island with the amazing view to the ocean. The transportation to the main village is included so you can easly get there in the morning and com back in the evening if you want. The food was good and the price was ok.

The location is beautiful. We had a view to the sea and it was amazing! It is a bit far from the main place but it makes it very unique and special. You can feel like you are on the private island:) The transportation is included and you can take the boat every morning to the village and back afternoon if you want. The host and all team were very friendly and helpful. We got a bigger bungalow than we booked and we had enough space for us and for our son. The food was fresh and good. The price was ok. Bungalows are nice. I would love to come back again one day!

with a little attention to cleanliness where you eat, a minimum of hospitality, the place could be fantastic. All the people of Rangiroa know the problems of this location generated exclusively by the character and incapacity of the responsible owner and the whole family that manages the place.

Minimal breakfast, extremely disappointing, coffe to tea, a slice of bread and jam. Dirty tables, no table service. Family personnel, incompetent and incompetent in the activity they carry out. Location incredible beautiful, beach and ocean wonderful, the location is on Motu with nobody for miles. The bungalow are ok, clean when you arrive and no small.

Nothing negative!

Amazing place! Long endles beach, Laguna. To go there the take you with a speed boat...so boat trip is included :)...But only 7.30 a.m. for activities and back 5 p.m .Recommended!
