How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewCoffee was available in our room, instant, and some cookies. Nina offered us a wonderful local grapefruit from her family’s trees. It was sweet and juicy. They have a banana tree on the property and she gave us a couple bananas when we arrived. Our overnight stay was brief, 12 hrs, so we didn’t have time to swim in the beautiful pool. Our host picked us up at the airport and gave us a ride to our next destination which was very helpful. We had forgotten something in our room at checkout and Nina reached out to us and arranged to return the item to us the following day. She even made 2 attempts to catch up with us. Very generous in deed.
Real coffee would be better, some cream, and maybe a continental breakfast type. Something light, maybe some mixed fruit, yogurt, or pastries would elevate the experience. The final cost was $24450 XPF, around $240 US. I was quoted by Booking.com $199
Thank you for your sweet review and suggestion. I would have been glad to offer you a local and homemade breakfast upon request. About the price, I confirm that 23 750 XPF is 232 USD but 199 EUR. Thank you for staying with us!

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at this lovely place! Nina, our host, was incredibly helpful, giving us local tips on tours, transport, and hidden gems that only locals know. The accommodation itself is very cosy and comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. Its super convenient location, just a short distance from the airport, made arrivals and departures stress-free. We also loved the beautiful pool area, where we could enjoy breakfast and relax. Every detail contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Verified reviewLocation was perfect for a short stay over. The airport shuttle service was a huge bonus as we got in late at night and were leaving early the next morning. Both Nina and her husband were great getting us to and from the airport. We will definitely stay again and hopefully can enjoy a little more time there!
All was great. Perfect for our needs.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Chalet Ohana for one night before our flight to Bora Bora. The owner, Nina, is very organized and had messaged me all the details I would need for pick up, a couple of weeks before. She offers free pick up and drop off to the airport which is very helpful. She also offered home made breakfast for an additional charge - it was wonderful and plenty for us. The room is small as advertised and we were only there for a night so it didn't bother us much. Meeting Nina and her family was wonderful! She is a great host!
Nothing! Keep it up, Nina!

Verified reviewI had a one-night stay before having to be at the airport at 5:00 a.m. The airport pick up and drop off went smoothly - I can't say enough about how helpful and well-organized Nina is! Chalet Ohana is like an oasis: the room was like a lovely cottage and I had a private bathroom. Even though it is near the airport, it is tucked away and is peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend Chalet Ohana when needing to get to or from the airport. Thanks Nina!
Nothing - everything was great.

Verified reviewSimple but stylish accommodation close to the airport. We booked a room with Nina on our way out of Tahiti and were very well taken care of. Nina picked us up from the airport the night before after our flight from Bora Bora and dropped us off again early the next morning for our onward journey home. We are very thankful for her hospitality and great service. Her home is beautiful, the room is clean, and we had access to the pool area to have dinner and relax in the evening. 100% recommend.

Verified reviewNina and her family made us very welcome as though we were part of her extended family and in addition to our own comfortable private facilities allowed us use of the family’s excellent outdoor facilities and even provided fresh fruit grown in their own garden. Communication was excellent throughout and the transportation to and from the airport was a real bonus. Cannot praise this property enough.
No negatives to report.

Verified reviewLocation from the airport. Also, the owner picked us up and dropped us off at the airport
The room was so small, there was no room to open suitcases. Also, I had to turn sideways to get from one end of the bed to the other end to use the bathroom. There was so little room, my wife and I had to take turns opening our suitcases and getting ready to go to bed or to get dressed in the morning. The air conditioning did not cool the room enough. At one time, it shut off and it took 15 minutes in the middle of the night to get it working again. Finally, there were bugs in the unit. When I walked into the bathroom, there were 4 bugs on the sink. More bugs appeared during our stay. Between the poor AC and the bugs, we didn't sleep very well at all.
Thank you Robert for taking the time to write a review. I am so sorry to hear that you hadn't sleep well. The AC is brand new and working very well usually. Maybe the dry mode I chose when I used to turn it on was not enough for you, up could have chosen another mode or a cooler temperature. about bugs, I don't know which kind of bugs it was, it could happen to meet some inoffensive ants at night, nothing dangerous. Tahiti is a tropical country and we are in the middle of the nature here. Sorry for the inconvenience. About the size of the room, this room is usually enough for an overnight stay when in transit in Tahiti, I do offer a larger room too.

Verified reviewNina was super nice to talk to and picked us up from the airport then dropped off back to airport afterwards. The room is charming, clean and matches the photos exactly. We tried the fruits from the backyard that she offered and they were delicious! Even though our stay was a quick one less than 8 hours between flights but we really enjoyed the stay and had a very good sleep on her comfy mattress/beds.

Verified reviewIt is very convenient to the airport and works well when you have an early departure.
Be aware that the room is very small.
Thank you Debbie for your review. You are right, this 10m2 transit room is perfect for an overnight stay. For longer stay, I offer a 20m2 master bedroom with a super king size bed.
