Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandTowel rails in the bathroom and bedside tables would be nice, also a small table outside to put a cup or glass on would be helpful.

United StatesThis was an excellent find. We needed to make a last minute reservation and they were very accommodating for our group of 9. Although it is a little out of the way, and you really need a car to get there, it was a beautiful spot and the staff was exceptional.

United StatesAll was good.
The individual Japanese-inspired lodges were private and beautifully zen, complete with mosquito nets and a ceiling fan (no AC). The lodges with kitchenettes were not available during our stay but the shared kitchen was well equipped and each lodge had a designated refrigerator shelf and pantry shelf. There were no amenities provided so you have to bring everything with you. You can request breakfast and pizza at night for extra charge. We arrived via ferry to Ra’iatea on Sunday and learned that most of the shops and restaurants are closed all or most of the day. Alcohol is also not sold on Sunday afternoons. So, it would be better for shopping, eating and stocking up to arrive and leave on a day other than Sunday. There also is no shuttle or public transport to the Lodge so you need to rent a car. The drive from the airport or ferry landing takes at least 40 minutes on a narrow winding road repleat with scooters, dogs, chickens and pedestrians. Having said all that, the grounds and location are lovely as are the hosts Ketty and Moerii. The garden ends in a narrow strip of sandy beach that looks out to the nearby mouth of the bay. You can see and hear the surf rolling in. You can read and relax or paddle a kayak to the motu to snorkel (there is equipment to borrow). It was a lovely place to chill out.

United StatesSome construction going on for future improvements. The private beach needs some cleanup. Kayaks were available but no information given as to where to go. Apparently there was a nice bird sanctuary within paddle distance. Would have been nice to have been told. A full kitchen at our disposal which would have been nice to know before we arrived.
Great clean comfortable room. Private quiet location. Nice handmade pizza on premises, otherwise no dinner service. Friendly owners on site.

United StatesCan’t think of anything ~ it was all quite excellent !
I stayed at Fare Oviri two times, during my vacation in French Polynesia. Both stays were quite excellent. The host and his family were friendly and very attentive to their customers’ comfort. The breakfasts were home~cooked and tasted wonderful! On multiple occasions the hosts took guests in their power boat, for an afternoon tour of a nearby Motu, where I was able to snorkel and film lots of tropical fishes and coral. (There was no additional charge for that guided tour). I would highly recommend this accommodation to others. 👍👍

United StatesHaving a rental car is highly recommended, it is 45mins to an hour from the main town where most diving and excursions are based. That said, a car is a GREAT way to see the entire island, we were very happy we had one for our entire stay.
Michael and his wife were absolutely wonderful hosts, they are putting in a lot of work to make the property even more beautiful. They were very attentive to our needs, and helped arrange excursions (best to arrange before you arrive, they fill up!) The bungalow was lovely, clean and roomy (fresh flowers in the room when we arrived). The shared space had everything we needed to prepare meals. We indulged, and had two breakfasts prepared for us, we were so full we skipped lunch both days! Kayaks are provided with nice snorkeling, and the huge archaeological site within paddling distance. We encountered dolphins on our day paddling. Rays are common, but we missed seeing them. We absolutely recommend a stay here, they are equipped to host couples and entire families.

AustraliaIt’s a bit remote and a car might be needed. As there are new owners they are renovating a lot and also building a new main house, that lead to some noise.
The owners are super friendly and we had an amazing stay. There is a nice private beach and they offer free kayaks where it’s possible to visit a small Motu for a snorkeling stop. They also offer great pizzas and breakfast.

United Statesthe location is a bit remote but we were in the most beautiful bay of the island so it was largely worth it.
We met with Corinne who gave us the keys to the room and gave us a tour of the property. You have access to the kitchen, which is very well organized with room allocated in the fridge and shelves. Corinne also prepares breakfast and pizzas for dinner. We borrowed very good kayaks that we used to visit a motu nearby, it has the best snorkeling of the island. Highly recommend ! The bonus: the view from the lodge facing the bay is just magnificent.
