How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified review. Close to Fish and Blue Property was clean Had a pool
We arrived to learn the property owner who lives on site doesn’t speak English, although was advertised. But the most frustrating aspect was before we arrived at the bungalow, we stopped at the grocery store and picked up lunch, drinks and snacks. As we arrived and started unpacking our car, the owner noticed the food and told us that no food or drink can be consumed on the property. We needed to leave it in the car or takeaway. We were shocked! Not even salad stuff and cheese and crackers, and juice for morning. We quickly learned because they offer food and want you to buy from them or leave the property. Definitely never disclosed no food, and we had to leave immediately with food to go sit on the side of the road and eat ham and cheese sandwiches. Ridiculous, the AC is also on a timer and after so long it shuts off and you can’t turn it on. This was very frustrating after being gone all day to come back and relax and by bed time, wake up sweating and uncomfortable. For the price we paid I expected more!! You are literally in the backyard of people’s homes with a gate separating you. Very odd. Make sure to go to Fish and Blue. Great service and food

That's right, on your arrival, we informed you that there was no kitchen, we immediately offered you a very close pension that has a kitchen for its guests. For various reasons, including hygiene, we do not accept food from outside. This did not prevent us from having lunch inside the bungalow. That's right, we offer breakfasts, snacks and dinners. It's our job!! But we also offer a list of restaurants, snacks and caravans, for which we can reserve a table for you, if you wish. And all this in order to avoid washing the salad and dishes in the sink! This is wrong for drinks, since we even provided you with ice cubes and bottle openers. Wrong for air conditioning, there is no timer, but safety. It cuts off when you use the air conditioning, with the windows open. Wrong, you are not in the garden "of the people's houses", but in a pension where you share the garden and the pool with the other guests. Intimate pension with only 4 bungalows. I hope your trip to Polynesia has satisfied you despite everything.

Verified reviewThe relatively new bungalow was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The large outside deck was a bonus. There were only four bungalows, which made it a small charming environment. The hostess Hilga was very friendly and ccommodating, and she made good suggestions on activities and restaurants. We ate two breakfasts while there on a 5-night stay in early October 2023. The bread, pastries, jams, fruit salad, tea and hot chocolate were delicious. Hilga gave us a special egg dish for one of the breakfasts.
The barking dogs and noisy roosters woke us up early, but we are light sleepers and don't get up earlly like most people. Otherwise a very peaceful property.

Difficult to sleep late in the morning in countries that live to the rhythm of the sun. Looking forward to seeing you again on our beautiful island.

Verified reviewWow! Hilda and her husband are so kind and welcoming, and they make you feel like home. Right away we were asked what activities we had in mind and even though we hadn't made any reservations and everything was last minute Hilda managed to sort everything for us without worries! The location is brand new and super beautiful, the beds are comfy, the shower is amazing 😍 the large porch with table and very comfortable chairs is an ideal place to have one of the breakfasts or dinners they offer (we had dinner and it was so tasty!). The pool is new and the perfect temp, and there are nice lounge/sun chairs provided. Everything is very well taken care of and the property is right underneath a mountain....stunning views! The bungalow is also conveniently located 800m from the beach and they provide bikes for free which is perfect. Such a nice couple,and such a memorable stay. Accomadating and welcoming in every way, would definitely stay again!

Verified reviewAn absolutely lovely place - peaceful and tranquil that’s for sure! Beautifully appointed bungalows - beds were super comfortable and everything was well appointed and very clean. The pool area was a welcome bonus.
Lack of signage - while there is a sign on the main road, it would have been super helpful to have additional signage off the side street as property is somewhat hidden amongst other properties which are all gated.

Verified reviewThe bungalows are brand new, very tasteful and comfortable. The staff and owners were very welcoming and helpful. They made reservations for us and helped getting phone numbers and information about tours. We enjoyed the pool and using the bikes.
