Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesYou share a bathroom/shower, which I knew. But when you take your towel, clothes, soap, shampoo, etc... in the shared bathroom to shower there is No ledge to put anything on. In addition the shower head with a hose is laying on the faucets. A couple of shelves and attach the shower head to a rod that swivels would help. Also, the AC did not work in my room.
Location was great.

AustraliaHime lodge is a great, affordable hostel with good facilities and well-organised processes to help facilitate a smooth check-in and out. The staff and owners are friendly and the hostel is quiet, safe and comfortable. (The surrounding streets can feel unsafe to walk alone at night, so take care). I stayed in the women's dormitory section, which is made up of simple rooms, each with two beds. It was a nice surprise to share my dormitory only with one other traveler, when I had expected there to be 5-6 beds, as per the usual dormitory experience. If it's not busy you may be lucky enough to have a dorm room to yourself. I found Hime Lodge to be a nice, well-equipped and affordable place to stay and would recommend it to other solo travellers.

Ed and Vanessa are lovely, the place is simple but everything you can need is available, very clean, with a good value for money and 10mn walking from the ferry terminal and the city center. I came here 3 times and will repeat when in Papeete. I strongly recommend if you are budget conscious

GermanyNo soap or hand towels in common bathrooms Kitchen not good equipped (at least some salt and pepper and oil should be minimum) You can’t wear your shoes in the common rooms which I find very unhygienic, because the bathrooms mat is always wet after the people went to shower
Quite cheap in comparison to other hotel in Papeete Good location not far from the ferry and supermarkets Uncomplicated hosts

United KingdomThe day we arrived was super hot so the fan wasn’t doing much for the heat and sleeping! We knew it was fan only when booking but didn’t expect it to be so hot! If you struggle with heat maybe find some air con!
Close to the port - can walk there Easy self check in Budget friendly

United KingdomJust a suggestion - Dry kitchen dishes to be put away every morning by cleaners, table mats in common area wiped down each day.
Friendly hosts, sociable meeting area, single beds, no bunks, organised fridges, lovely new kitchen, spotlessly clean, no shoe policy.

FranceFor a youth hostel, there is nothing that I didn’t like really.
Very nice atmosphere, central location and welcoming owners. They try their best to place everyone alone in each dorm room, so when it’s not too busy you may very well have a room to yourself.

SudanIt was further from the centre of Tahiti than I expected. A good 10 minute walk. Not recommended to walk alone after sun set. The garden photos did not reflect the reality. Overall accomodation a bit stale and requires updating.
Manager was very helpful when booking in, as office was closed. The manger sent video of my accommodation and followed up with a phone call. Staff very attentive.

BelgiumCheck in on Whatsapp? This is the first time in my travel era check in through Whatsapp what a heck is that 😭 they send you a video the day before arrival showing how to get to your room. If you call they don’t pickup. Unnecessary messages were replied after the next day. But for emergency messages will immediately responded. No staff you can ask there, if you need a taxi there is a phone number on the door. The ferry terminal is 25 minutes walk. Payment has to be arranged through WhatsApp. Everything through Whatsapp. What happened if you don’t have the app? Then it’s too bad for you because they works with digital only.
I was looking a place with parking that’s why I chose Hime Lodge. Also the wifi works perfect inside the room, whether staying downstairs or upstairs both connections are pretty well. I’ve staying twice at this lodge, my first room was downstairs in a single bed with worn mattress, I got backache in the morning. It was a cheap room, and the fan missing a cap but still working thank god for that because it’s like baking inside the room. The second time I book a double room which was located upstairs. A bit pricey than the first one but with better mattress. Anyhow, all rooms are shared bathroom, and only fan. Parking is outside, if you get lucky to find space because it is a residential area where locals park their vehicles — first come first serve. Hime Lodge has private parking for two cars but it was occupied during my stay.

SwitzerlandIt gets very warm in the room. There is a fan but it is still quite sticky air. Mosquito nets at the windows would be needed.. The curtains were not really suitable for the room, especially in the bathroom. It would be easy for someone to look into the room while you shower. Check-in process didn't work so good for me. Even if I've sent them my check-im time (late arrival) with my booking and they confirmed it, there was no one there when I arrived. I had to call them several times and waited for about 30 min until i got the instructions for my room.
Good location. Bed was comfortable.
