Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandSome of the rooms are very noisy - poorly soundproofed and next to a large restaurant which also hosts the Polynesian night event. Eg room 136, a classic room (and likely all those close) are exposed to lots of noise from the restaurant.
Location close to the airport so a great option for a night if you need it for a connection.

AustraliaJust unfortunately while we were there renovations were going on with the main pool, off course it needs to be done it was just an observation and not upset about it .On the other hand it’s good to see them keeping the hotel modern nice and up to date.

GermanyThe main pool is under reconstruction since Feb’25 and until Sept ‘25. Nowhere on Booking is this mentioned. The result is that the whole hotel guest are crumbling around one mini pool, it doesn’t give you any Tahiti feeling but more Mallorca at high season. If I knew this before I wouldn’t have stayed here. Also the rooms should get a renovation, especially shower taps are very old. Upon our arrival we did not get a flower chain nor a welcome drink - disappointing. Also for Sunday breakfast/brunch you need to reserve your table as a in-house guest - nobody told us the day before, so we could not sit where we liked. The hotel provides a shuttle to Papeete, but they charge a fee. This should be free of charge for hotel guests. Upon arrival at 5AM, after 40 h trip with almost no sleep, we put don’t disturb, just to have the cleaner hammering at 11 to the door. Not acceptable
Friendly staff, nice and lush gardens, good breakfast and food, close to airport

New ZealandThe intercontinental Tahiti was incredible. There are three unique swimming options and while the main pool was under renovation, the lagoon swimming area is very special and the sand bottom pool with swim up bar was incredible. In terms of dining, the garden lounge was perfect for watching the sunset at happy hour and the Le Lotus restaurant was a special and romantic experience. The breakfast is also to die for. If you stay while the pool is being renovated, I would encourage you to stay in the premium rooms close by the Le Lotus pool. Our Classic beach view room looked over some trucks related to the pool renovation and was a little noisy during the day which meant we spent less time in our room and more time in the other areas. This didn’t affect our sleep at all and we still absolutely loved our stay.

AustraliaWe originally booked a garden view room but before our arrival we upgraded to a sea view room floor room. When we arrived we had our upgrade but were not told we would be looking over a very large pool renovation. If we had of known we would have kept the garden view room. There were a lot of sea view rooms that would have paid the same price as us and got a full sea view. We were not compensated at all. Wet disappointed at this from a large resort. I would check this if you are staying between the now and the end of September when the pool renovation is due to be completed. This was the only issue we had other than that and slow internet it is a great hotel and we will be back.
The staff were amazing and very accommodating. Plenty of restaurants and bars with good food.

ThailandThere was a private event during our stay, and our dinner reservation was cancelled because of it. Also that event had a tent set up next to the swimming pool. It kind of ruined the view a bit.
The service was outstanding.

United StatesWe were very disappointed that we booked a table (3 months in advance) for the Friday dinner show but the restaurant hostess gave us the worst table under a bright light. The termites were swarming the light and dropping all over us and our food. When we asked to move, she said the termites are only for 1 more hour. We booked this hotel only because the dinner show and were so disappointed. After insisting on seeing a manager, we finally got moved away from the termite swarm.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful., especially Tearii at the front desk and Frankie at the bell desk. The grounds and view are lovely and the beds are comfortable.

New ZealandThe restaurant at breakfast was terrible. The food was awful and the service was average at best. This would have been manageable except the cost was $150 NZD for two people. There were flies everywhere, the scrambled eggs were like soup, we ended up eating about $5 NZD worth of food and when I complained at reception on checkout (very soon after) I was basically told “nothing I can do, you’ve been charged downstairs already” (even though it had been charged to our room) on top of the price we paid for the room it was very disappointing. Housekeeping just walked in to our room without knocking (about 30minutes prior to checkout) and caught myself and my spouse “out” and did not even apologise, just seemed annoyed we were still in there - we were both very embarrassed and uncomfortable. On a much smaller deal, We were told on checkin (we were early) advised me that they’d request quick turnaround of cleaning and signed me up to the hotel rewards scheme and would email me the member number, and advise when the room was ready - this email never came.
The property is lovely - the woman on checkin was very friendly, the pools are gorgeous, the room was very clean and quite nice and the turtle care centre was very special.

AustraliaSnack food at food was not so good. Dining room was better. There was a line to check in and people were standing in the heat for about 45mins. They could have put on more staff or given people a number so they could sit comfortably until their turn to check in. Checking out was complicated as although they had my credit card I had to present it to them again or try to check out online which was not customer friendly
Nice room but view on our terrace was blocked by bushes
