How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery relaxing place, closed room with opened kitchen and bathroom, all private, in a beautiful garden. Kitchen is fairly well equipped. Lovina and David are lovely, very helpful. Even provide washing free of charge, which is really nice. The location is near the shops, main road, relatively close to the airport (20 mins by car) and mainly very close to a fantastic beach full of corals and fish.
The main problem is the lack of air conditioning, mainly in the hot and humid season. And mosquitoes in the same period.
Merci 🤩

Verified reviewDavid and Lowina were incredible hosts, very welcoming and very invested in facilitating a wonderful holiday by providing lots of information about Tahiti and what we could find in the area, including an almost private beach just 1 minutes walk away. Excellent location to shops, cafes. Accommodation was excellent
The pillows provided for the bed were very very soft, not my ideal, but this is a minor issue.

Verified reviewTop location in Nuuroa, a little off the road, which makes it really nice and quiet. Everything you need in the apartment including parking. The access to the beach with almost white sand was great and the beach wonderful. Owner was always easy to reach and very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the stay.
A lot of mosquitoes came in the evening, which meant I had to rely on the ceiling and standing fan. An anti-mosquito repellent is also recommended. However, you will always find mosquitoes in the shallow areas near the water on Tahiti.

Verified reviewDavid and Lowina are amazing hosts, I felt right at home. Lots of small businesses and cool restaurants walking distance, delicious bakery. Almost private beach just couple minutes away from the house. Davis’s place is great for discovering authentic Tahiti.
Nothing, it was a great getaway experience for me

Verified reviewLovely POlynesien accommodation, it was very clean ! Stayed 3 nights. They made me a special offer as I wanted to check in early. Around 8am. Location close to the beach this was really nice , had a swim early in the morning and there was no one at the beach. Supermarket is nearby. David booked me a taxi to take me to the port, however for some reason the taxi was unavailable so he took me there. Which I really appreciated! Suggest you hire a car or scooter ( I used helloscoot) . Bustransport is challenging and quite often the buses a very full.

Verified reviewIt was a great time in the little house I rented. The owners are very nice people, very helpful and friendly. Good communication with David & Lowina, a super-equipped house and proximity to the water and the service area are just some of the advantages. I made particular friends with one cat who liked to visit me and I will remember this stay very fondly ♡

Verified reviewOur stay at Le Charme Polynesian was beautiful. The traditional Polynesian accommodation is very homely, and is in a great location, about 150m away from a pristine snorkelling spot. David and Lowina were attentive and friendly hosts, and had some snorkelling and beach gear you could use if you didn’t have your own. David and Lowina also took us to a traditional Polynesian performance taking place nearby, an annual dance that we got to witness.
For non-French speaking travellers, google translate did come in handy and I’d encourage hiring a car or scooter to avoid steep taxi costs around the island.
Merci

Verified reviewDespite my late arrival in the night, David was here to welcome me. I did appreciate the great communication but also the respect of my privacy. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were extremely clean. And yes beach, bus stop, shops, supermarket and bank with ATM are min away .

Verified reviewThis liitle cottage was like a little hidden slice of paradise. We arrived at 2am but David had provided excellent instructions on how to get there and it was all ready for us. The owners speak no English and i speak a little French but we used online translators and David was incredibly welcoming and helpful with some ideas on local restaurants and parking and markets in the city. The accomodation is simple but very cheap and perfect to kick back and relax. It is secure and quiet and you can walk down a track to a small beach (walk around to the right in ftont of the abandonded resort) where you can swim and snorkel and see a great array of colourful fish.
Nothing!
Merci 😀

Verified reviewRustic accommodations in the back house of a family compound. No screens, no air conditioning. I guess it was an authentic experience in a thatched hut. Hosts were eager to please and very outgoing and wanted to make sure we were well attended to. Directions were provided but still it was not an easy location to find.
Accommodations are rustic and room does not have screens on the windows or doors and there is no A/C. If camping is your thing then this hut might be for you. It was not our idea of a good time. We did not like the nearby beach that you could walk to.
Thank you for your comment. However, it is clearly stated in the ad that it is not air-conditioned.

Verified reviewI had a perfect stay! The rooms are equipped with everything you need and it has a touch of home! The sleep quality is very good, as it is super calm. You wake up in a little paradise. The garden is awesome. Just 2 min to walk you are at a stunning beach, snorkeling, sunbath, sunset. Everything you could wish for. A little bakery is just 5min away, with super delicious croissants. Excellent working internet! Most special is to stay with David & Lowina. It’s more then just a guest house. They are really welcoming you! And David showed me the best snorkel places to see turtles and rays. It’s also only 10-15min fare away by car from the airport. Even you only stay some days, come down here! So much nicer instead of staying in the city :) I can really recommend to stay here!
This has nothing to do with the accommodation, just an advice, check the time zone from where you are flying! especially during night times!

Verified reviewDavid and his family were very generous hosts and worked with us despite a booking error which was totally my fault. He was kind enough to help us out with some last minute transportation on Christmas Eve. The room is a good size with multiple fans and very comfortable bed complete with a detached private bathroom, kitchenette, outdoor dining area & shower. The location is within walking distance to grocery stores and a very short walk to a beautiful beach overlooking the island of Moorea. Our only regret is that we were not able to stay longer.
Directions to the home are a bit confusing for anyone who is not local and no AC in room but was not advertised to have it on the posting and was not an issue for us personally.
