Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandLa perle Taha'a is a guesthouse where you feel really integrated into the island life. They prepare very good food and the staff is very nice. Sometimes there are local bands playing music. The location is great as you can paddle on your own to a nearby Motu and feel like Robinson Crusoe. In front of the accommodation you have awesome snorkeling and we met almost everytime some manta rays 😃

BrazilBest location in the island, in front of the coral garden which you can reach by borrowing the kayaks from the hotel. Although far from the main town Patio, it has some restaurants nearby, reachable by bike. A highlight of our stay was Teitho, the new employee who is super kind and happy to share his culture with guests!

United StatesLights didn't work in our bungalow kitchen but we didn't prepare meals there anyway. And the dock which they call the pontoon needs to have it's repairs completed (they had a big storm a month before that damaged the dock as well as the boat hoist). Those were really minor inconveniences, overall we were very pleased with the place and its staff.
The chef, Alice prepares delicious meals for dinners if you are doing half board. She also provides you with a nice assortment of fruits and breads/pastries for breakfast along with fruit juice, good coffee, and or teas. Damien and Karine are really nice hosts and do everything to make sure that you have a great stay.

United StatesGreat location. Lovely ambiance. Friendly family and staff. Fantastic food and drink. Charming bungalows. Overall a fantastic experience. The best part was the water access. You can take out the kayaks and paddle around the island or to the motu depending on your fitness. One of the coral gardens is just across from the pension and a good half day self-guided excursion

United Statesthe shower, the breakfast price/food availability, the water pressure and temperature.
Very nice location, free kayak rental included in the stay, bike rent right in the office. and that’s about it. The rest is brutal: extremely expensive breakfast for what you get. yes, this is an island..but give at least a boiled egg for $17 per breakfast. we got 2 coffees that was nice. the water in the shower is cold and barely running.

FranceExcellent stay in a great location on the Tahaa Island. Karine and Damien are very friendly and helpful. In a word super hosts. As the island is remote, there is little choice of restaurants and it is hard to go somewhere for dinner unless one has a car. Hence we elected for a full board at La Perle Tahaa. The breakfast and dinner were very good prepared by a Tahitian team. all the "limited attractions" are close by and can be reached by bikes freely available on the facilities. Karine and Damien are very well connected to get a car, or a shuttle service booked. We had a great time and will make la Perle Tahaa definitely our destination next time we go there.

United StatesThere were no reading lamps in our bedroom, only a mood lamp with dim light and an overhead fan light. Also, only one side of the bed had a table. The entire interior is painted dark brown so light is important. We only had 1/2 Roll of toilet paper at check in and no matches to light stove. This was quickly remedied by Damien, the very kind owner at dinner time. Make sure you let the owner know if you have no hot water. They are apt to run out of gas, but can recharge as needed. Having to walk up the hill to the restaurant to use wifi ( none in room) was a bit inconvenient, but we knew this in advance.
Location was perfect for snorkeling and using kayaks to get to Coral Garden on motu nearby ( 20-30 minute paddle depending on wind) We saw manta rays twice in four days directly in front of the resort and paddled kayaks to the Coral Garden on 2 days. We are snorkeling geeks so we have high standards. The sunsets were so beautiful to watch with Bora Bora as a backdrop. Be aware that the best view is across the road from the bungalows at their private “beach@ and pier. There are 5 chaise lounges and 2 chairs and a small table there for all the bungalows. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, but don’t expect ice cream to stay frozen.

United StatesNothing!
Everything! The staff was so friendly and helpful! The A/C was cold. Refrigerator and kitchenette was nice to have. We snorkeled off the dock and got a water taxi to also spend a few hours on the motu to snorkel the coral gardens. We really loved everything about this accommodations. We even rented a car from them for a day to drive the island. The staff really go out of their way and it was really nice.

United StatesRun down. These pictured chairs are not the chairs when we were there. There was not a comfortable chair on the property. Not clean toilet did not flush several times. Meals were mediocre compared to restaurant down the road and over priced. I liked the island and the recommendation for day excursion was fabulous.

United StatesThe place is pretty shabby. The more expensive cabins are adequate, but by no means worth the price. My shower sprayed water all over the stall. The less expesnsive rooms were more problematic. One of our group had no hot water, to discover the heating had fallen down and was not attatched to the tank. One room had sloppy spackle on what seems to have been a hole. The food was excellent, but not worth the $50 price. The paint on the beach chairs was pealing and had no mattresses.
It is on a quite and lovely island. The tour the owner arranged was splendid. The snorkling at the end of the pier was fabulous

United StatesThis property seems to position itself in a higher market segment than it actually belongs to, given its current state and lack of maintenance. The prices charged suggest a level of quality and comfort that the property simply doesn't deliver. We have stayed at several other accommodations during our two trips through French Polynesia and they have charged roughly the same amount for better comfort and quality of service. The general condition of the property is far from what we expected: the walkways are chipped, the cabin facades are in disrepair, the outdoor furniture is often dirty and/or damaged, making it unappealing to use. The beachfront is a small cement platform sparsely covered with sand and rundown lounge chairs. Those elements collectively give the property an unfortunate atmosphere of neglect. Inside the accommodations, the quality is equally misaligned: the room was dark, with damaged floors (which btw caused my husband a splinter). The bathroom fixtures were corroded, the shower had low water pressure, and the bathroom door was broken, held open by a shoelace tied to the faucet. There was no cleaning service during our 4-night stay, and a stained bed sheet greeted us upon arrival. Simple amenities like coffee or tea bags would also have been appreciated.
The staff at the pension, namely the receptionist and the cook, were fantastic -friendly, helpful and truly dedicated to making our stay pleasant. The receptionist went above and beyond by coming in earlier than his shift on our last day to drive us to the port. The cook was exceptionally talented and prepared delicious meals. The owners were friendly and eager to share with their guests. The cocktails, prepared by Damien, the owner, are fantastic. The pier was a lovely feature, offering access to good snorkeling opportunities. Additionally, we appreciated the air conditioning in the room, ensuring a comfortable stay despite the heat.

United StatesHorrible experience ! way too expensive for what it has to offer! way too noisy! too close to the road, too many barking dogs, extremely noisy construction all day. After talking to the owner, he did not help us in any way financially even after paying for 3 nights and we ended up fleeing the place after just one night… looking for the peaceful vacation we had in mind. we would have appreciated a free breakfast or something but he did nothing !!! would not recommend !
would have been better if the renovation of the dock, in front of our bungalow, was not happening during our stay. we had to leave after just 1 night, losing 2 expensive nights.

ItalyThis is not a hotel, there is no cleaning service nor breakfast nor service of any kind. Kitchen in the room is not sufficiently equipped and the few utensiles were dirty. We had to keep our food closed in plastic bags because of the many ants populating the room. We received little or no information about what to do and how to do it. The pier and sunbeds were mostly broken. We left one day earlier than planned. We understand the new hosts are trying to improve the facility but we believe guests should not pay the full price while such improvements are being implemented. We felt ripped off
Location is good just in front the motu (little island) were the most famous resort of the area and a beautiful coral garden are located. Rooms on the second and third row are quiet, while those on the first row are literaly on the street and more noisy.

United StatesThe Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented two units. The property is tired and small things throughout the bungalow were broken, worn, etc. Windows leaked rain and the seals were gone so that the windows were foggy. Bathroom floor blistered. Cabinet doors hanging from hinges. Front door locks either broken or handles missing. Bathroom door had no handle or latch. Inadequate or no towel racks. Inadequate lighting particularly around the bed. The rooms are dark. The traffic noise is quite loud early in the morning. Sun blinds not working. Broken wind chimes hanging everywhere. The restaurant is too far uphill from the rooms and is way too expensive. There is no wifi available in the rooms, only in the restaurant. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant areas. Staff was really only interested in selling us tours, which we declined. There was no offer of towel changes or room cleaning during the week. Transportation to and from the property is complicated and expensive. The similar property next door went out of business during Covid. Most of the cabins here are not air conditioned.
The Large Bungalow - de l'Archipel, we rented the two units available, were both nicely appointed but needed maintenance. The air conditioning worked well. We enjoyed having a refrigerator. We enjoyed the front porch for seating outside. The sea life near the dock is great....we saw Manta Rays, Octopus, tropical fish. Kayaks and bicycles are available without charge.
