Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt's possible to swim off the beach here. but it's not the best - there is good swimming close by, however, and the beach is very walkable if you prefer to stroll in the sand.
We had a wonderful stay here! We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as the owners, who were undertaking renovations, and they treated us like family. The unit was rustic, but perfectly comfortable - the one we were staying in will be the owners house now that renovations are completed, I believe, and the new units look much nicer. We spent some wonderful mornings and evenings sitting at the front shelter, beachcombing on the beach, and watching the waves break on the reef with coffee or beers. Sunsets here were fabulous. It's only a couple of km walk or a quick bike ride/drive into town for everything you need, the supermarket there is very well stocked, and there are good swimming beaches close by. Merci beaucoup, Frank and Juliette - we loved Huahine and had the best time :-)

United StatesIt was all good.
The bungalow was spacious, clean, modern, nicely appointed, and next to the ocean. It had a comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, and ceiling fans throughout. Also an outdoor shaded seating area with table and chairs, lovely. Nathalie was always available to answer questions and to help out. The loaner bikes were very kind, though really a car or motorbike is ideal for getting into Fare and around the island. We loved being so close to the water even if swimming is not really feasible — the reef is close here and the lagoon shallow. The beach is gorgeous anytime but especially for sunsets, and we even saw whales one evening. Altogether a delightful place and a wonderfully memorable stay! One thing to consider when booking is that you will reserve a specific bungalow — there are three, all different. So a review for one bungalow doesn’t reflect the reality of every bungalow, they all have different advantages. Great value for the price!!

New ZealandYou can't drink the water from the tap so would of been nice to have some water provided before going to buy some.
Le Spot is a fantastic location close to the township, a nice big room, great wifi connection, next to an amazing reef, so not to good for swimming but the public beach not far away.If you like crashing waves to go to sleep to it's a perfect place to unwind.I didn't have a car but Nathalie organised a taxi to Le Spot and I made use of the free bikes to ride around. It's simple but good value.

New ZealandOnly one working fan in our unit.
We loved the location so close to the beach and listening to the waves crashing over the reef. We spotted Humpback whales on several occasions which was amazing. The free use of the bikes was a bonus.

United StatesIt didn’t have a sign on the front of the house so it was difficult to find.
Location is excellent.. on the beach just outside of town. Nice facilities in the house with a large kitchen stocked with all the essentials for cooking.

AustraliaI read previous reviews about the lack of air conditioning in the ocean view bungalow being problematic. And yes at times it was uncomfortable due to the heat on Huahine but we had fans and had no difficulty sleeping.
It was a great location, close walk to Fare township. Large and spacious. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Excellently shower. We were right on the beach. Bikes were available.

SwedenAs the place is located right by the beach it's noisy from the waves during the whole night, so if you are a light sleeper, bring your earplugs.🙂
The location is very good, we saw dolphines and whales from the beach. The place is very specious, it has a full equipped kitchen and and big bathroom and two queen size beds in the bedroom/living room. The windows has also have mosquito nets installed to keep the mosquito away from coming in the the house during the night. Nathalie welcomed us on arrival. She is super friendly and helped us with booking transfer for our recursion the day after. And she was always available in case of questions.

New ZealandThere is no soap or shampoo provided. There is a line to dry your clothes but it is in the shade so it takes a lot longer to dry with the humidity. There are no beach towels (just the ones provided to have a shower), but our host, Nathalie, provided us with some. If you are unfamiliar with gas stoves, make sure you ask how to use it beforehand. There could have been more pillows provided. Ensure you wear shoes in the water (coral). If you do get a graze or cut from coral, clean the wound with limes to kill the bugs and infection. There is one fan, the kitchen gets the sun in the afternoon so it is roasting in there (make sure you close the curtains to keep out the direct sun and keep the place cooler). We kept the door to the kitchen closed so the lounge and rooms stayed cooler. The lounge is the coolest place and the rooms can be quite hot (but, it is the tropics so it is hot anyway!)
You can hear the waves from the white sand beach located one property in front of the place (shared grass area where you can access the beach probably 25 metres away). There are bicycles in the garage, cooking facilities, a shaded outside dining area, air conditioning in the lounge, TV, internet, recycling bin, a laminated map of the island that points out key places to visit) and it is reasonably close to the main centre of Huahine. We did a tour of the island in a day but apparently missed the best beach (near the Post Office). There is a supermarket - Super U close to the Boat Club that closes at 7pm. In the mornings (5am-11am-ish) there are the local markets (great for picking up fresh fruit and vegetables and local baking). We swam off the dock there and it was gorgeous (it is between the Boat Club and Super U) and out in the distance you see the outline of Huahine (the contour of a wahine/woman). There is even a woven archway where you can take scenic photos from that place. There is a pingpong table outside that was a hit with the kids. I was able to organise a car through the hosts and was picked up/dropped off at the airport. There were some basic seasoning on the counter eg salt. There are a couple of banks - Bank of Tahiti and Socredo where you can take out money from their ATM (machines). This is useful as you need to pay in cash.

United StatesThe beach out front of the property (which there is no view from in the house we stayed in) was rock and shallow water with mostly coral. So it was not a good place to stay cool during the day; too shallow to snorkel or swim. The room was spacious but not very comfortable and got very hot. The oven/stove were difficult to use and didn’t work well. There were ants everywhere.
The manager (hostess) was wonderful. Although she didn’t speak English she tried very hard to be helpful, and for a reasonable fee transported us to and from the ferry. Grounds were nice, and it was in walking distance from the Main Street in town.

RomaniaThe place can get a little of identity, it seems to be neglected and some things easy to change are damaged. A lot of dust in the room, especialy at the windows. With a little bit of effort this place can be more atractive!
Very good location. You probably need a car, but it is close to airport and village center with supermarket and restaurants. The “beach” is right there, but I think that you can use it only for walk. The room is big, good beds, good kitchen, good bathroom with hot water. The internet is good too! In the night the sea is very rough, but we like it like that, we slept like babies. Otherwise, you need hearplugs. Stephanie is a sweet lady, she was very responsive to our requests.

United StatesThe beds were quite uncomfortable. The owner should think about installing the AC because the portable fans were not enough or maybe ceiling fans would do the trick. The kitchen had the basic stuff but the appliances need to be replaced. I think that providing some shower gel and shampoo would make one feels more welcome.
Steps away from the water, beautiful sunsets and snorkeling possible. Short bike ride (for free) or drive to Fare where restaurants and Super U were located. Nathalie was very nice, friendly and available.
