Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The host Nadine was really friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to show me the main point of attraction in the city. Also did booking for the tour around Tahiti. The accommodation was nice and clean. Room was spacious. Only a short walk to the town center. Other guests were very friendly. It was definitely value for money and was like home away from home. Love to go back for another stay in the future. Thanks.

The proximity of a store and a pastry place makes up for the traffic noise at the location.
HOST - she was courteous and quick to answer my questions even BEFORE I landed in Tahiti. The highlight was when I decided go to Moorea and she organized the transport and tour for the following day! She also suggested other things to see and do in Papeete. ROOM - Very clean and comfortable.

Most important, good firm mattress. Fan available, spacious room. Access to gascooker with a lot of kitchen equipment. Supermarkets and even central marché is near. Walkable. => Nadine communicated excellently in every area. She also made me feel very welcome. Which is a huge plus ! ( Many accomodations on booking.com do not communicate at all. ) It s a pitty that the location is on a busy street, which results in some noise from the traffic at peak hours. Esp. When want to sit outside at the sitting area. The reason why i find it too expensive

Nothing bad to say
The hostess was great and the apartment had more than ample space, huge kitchen, nice lounge, big outdoor area and the bedroom was good. I was well looked after and would recommend this place, I was really surprised at the size of Papeete and was only expecting a small area, so this made the location great

Nadine was an excellent host. She has great suggestions on what to do and where to go. The staff was great and generous. The kitchen area is well stocked with lots of utensils. It appears there are 3 types of rooms: A separate large one, a separate medium sized room, and 2 small rooms with bunk beds. I stayed in the medium sized room. When I asked for a longer stay, Nadine was able to accommodate me with with the one small bunk bed room. It was fine. Thanks Nadine.

Clean, safe, quiet yet close walk to city, able to do self catering, the host Nadine is very helpful - like having a Tahitian friend. Free transport from airport was very appreciated as arrived late.

Parking was difficult on the street. This was not generally a problem for us, but on the days we rented a car, we did not feel comfortable leaving the car in the locations that Nadine suggested (after hours parking lots of near-by businesses.)
The location was very convenient. Walkable the waterfront shops and parks. The kitchen was amazing, very clean and well stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils. The patisserie across the street had everything: delectable pastries, lunch items and a very friendly proprietor. Nadine was exceptionally helpful and gave us great suggestions for restaurants as well as rides to and from the property.

Nadine is a very welcoming host and very helpful. I loved the room. Spacious and well equipped. I had a room with ensuing which was really good. It's in a good location. 20min walk to markets and ferry. Quiet and secure. Shared space was really useful and well set out

I did not find anything that bothered me.
It was clean. it has everything we needed for our trip: kitchen to endulge on our own food and laundry facilities. It is pretty close to the center (15 minutes walk). And Nadine, the host, is so helpful!

Im extremely happy with the accommodation that I stayed in, very quiet and the hospitality from the owner made my stay an enjoyable one. Other house guest at the time was very friendly. I RECOMMEND CITY HOUSE TO ANYONE WANTING AN ACCOMMODATION IN PAPEETE. Shops. bakery, suppermarket's were neaby just walking distance even cafes and restraunts that I ate at was awesome. Very clean and the compound is very secure and safe. I will certainly return. I did not visit beaches because I went to Moorea. Thankyou very much to Nadine & David. You two are awesome host, Will see you again.

Only minor drawback is that it is a bit of a walk in to the center of Papeete, but that certainly is not Nadine’s fault.
Best part of the stay was Nadine’s willingness to help us visitors in every possible way. My room was quiet and clean. There are two supermarkets nearby as well as a bakery across the street. Nadine graciously drove me and two other guests to the ferry terminal upon our departure from Papeete. She also booked an early morning taxi for me.

Don’t stay there! The manager, Nadine, made our trip hell! She would say one thing and do another (she says she misunderstood but it happened too often so I don’t think so), changing our reservation and agreed check in time. Shed then throw the onus completely on us, not only costing us money (a whole extra hotel night fare!!) but pestering us during our holidays, constantly messaging and calling to change things over and over while we were supposed to be enjoying our holidays. She was extremely pushy and not genuine.
The place is fine. Comfortable and clean enough.
